Activision pulls the curtain back on the Season 2 Battle Pass for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, showing off new BlackCell skins, operator skins, and new store bundles. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 got off to a slower start than usual, Activision and its development studios like Treyarch are aiming to continue improving the experience for players. Part of that evolutiuon includes these seasonal updates, which add substantial new content for players to enjoy.

In fact, it seems that Black Ops 7 has largely rebounded from its underwhelming launch. While Battlefield 6 initially dominated the headlines by becoming the Best Selling Shooter of 2025, Black Ops 7 has been playing the long game, and it appears to be working. While Battlefield 6 has lost a lot of its early momentum, new industry data shows that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 became the most-played game on PlayStation and Xbox in the US during January 2026. Even with more platforms available to it, Activision appears to be attempting to capitalize on that momentum thanks to the imminent launch of Season 2.

Developer Treyarch Studios confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 2 will see the return of a fan-favorite multiplayer map from Black Ops 2.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards

In a new post on the game's blog, Activision gave fans their first detailed look at the types of rewards that can be earned when Season 2 launches for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on February 5. The newest operator to join the growing roster is neural scientist Victoria Atwood, a character heavily involved with The Guild and someone responsible for digging into the mind of David Mason during the campaign. She's an instant unlock for just purchasing the premium Battle Pass along with a 10% XP boost, Atwood's "Sage" skin, the Malcontent legendary blueprint for the Razor 9mm, Arm Up calling card, and the Warped Skull emblem.

In addition to a variety of operator skins, the Season 2 Battle Pass will add three free base Black Ops 7 weapons to unlock as well. This includes the REV-46 fully automatic SMG available on page 3, the EGRT-17 full-auto assault rifle on page 6, and the H311-SAW melee weapon on page 10. For those who want to add a bit more personalization to the existing weapons, Season 2 will add over 20 Blueprints, new Optic Reticles, Finishing moves, and Equipment Skins for things like the Cluster Grenade. Players can even earn additional rewards like stickers, consumable tokens, themes, and Call of Duty's premium COD Points.

Season 2 also brings back Call of Duty's BlackCell content, offering even more skins and rewards for those who don't mind spending a little more on the Battle Pass. In this case, instant BlackCell rewards include the Phantom Operator and the alternative Eclipse skin. Each page in the Battle Pass also has exclusive bonus rewards for BlackCell owners as well, including a variety of skins for Mason, Atwood, and others. In addition, BlackCell owners will also instantly unlock:

  • 1,100 COD Points
  • The “Initiator” Mastercraft Blueprint for the AK-27 Assault Rifle with Tracers and Death FX
  • The alternate “Fatalist” Mastercraft Blueprint for the AK-27 Assault Rifle with Tracers and Death FX
  • The “Sic ’Em” Companion Finishing Move
  • The “Go Time” Gun Screen
  • The “BlackCell” Clan Tag (showcased in Lobbies and Winner’s Circles)
  • The Season 02 HUD Theme (BlackCell only)
  • 10% XP Loyalty Boost

The Call of Duty store will also have new packs for purchase, including new Ultra Operator Skins which are highly detailed, themed, and typically come with unique visual effects to help them stand out. For Season 2, this can be seen through the Final Directive Tracer Pack which comes with the Death Engine Reaper EWR-3 Ultra Operator Skin alongside a handful of other items. Activision's post also revealed details for the Phase Hunter Ultra Pack, Backdraft Ultra Skin, and Atomic Carbon pack.

However, new rewards aren't the only updates coming in Season 2. The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system is getting enhanced in Black Ops 7, as Activision announced new countermeasures to fight back against cheating and those who break the rules. Specifically, Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix, programs that are capable of running custom scripts and macros to help reduce things like recoil and add aim assistance, were mentioned by name. New detection methods will disable these programs, while Microsoft Azure Attestation will be used to verify PC integrity to work in tandem with the TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements.
