Activision is giving all Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players The Replacer Operator for free at the beginning of Season 1 next month. Peter Stormare, the famed actor known for his work in Prison Break, Constantine, and many more, has returned as his iconic Call of Duty character, The Replacer, for Black Ops 7, and fans will soon be able to don the beloved Operator Skin themselves when Season 1 begins on December 4.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 introduced some pretty major changes to the franchise when it launched earlier this month. While some of these were extremely well-received, such as the removal of skill-based matchmaking and disbanding lobbies, some were a little more divisive. Prior to the game's launch on November 14, publisher Activision revealed it would be canceling the Carry Forward feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. While Double XP Tokens, Gobblegums, and a handful of Operator Skins from Black Ops 6 could still be brought forward into this year's title, all other cosmetic items would not be transferred.

The decision to cancel Carry Forward upset those who had spent their hard-earned money on cosmetic items, but now Activision appears to be bringing one iconic Operator back: The Replacer. As part of the Season 1 Roadmap reveal, Activision confirmed that The Replacer will be returning in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on December 4, and this time the Operator Skin will be free to all players. The studio says it will be gifting The Replacer to all Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players "as a thank you." The skin will be awarded to players at the launch of Season 1 next month, once again donning his iconic black suited attire, now sporting a Black Ops “7” pin in his lapel.

For those who may be unaware, The Replacer has long been a part of the marketing for the Black Ops franchise, first appearing in live-action advertisements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The character has since returned for numerous installments after, with the latest being Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, it wasn't until Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 that The Replacer first became a playable character, specifically for the game's Blackout mode. He then returned for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as part of a new Store Bundle, and will once again be making a comeback for the latest entry, but this time for free.

Plenty of other details surrounding Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1 have also been revealed, including the extensive number of Multiplayer maps, weapons, Operators, and more coming to the game on December 4. For fans looking to get another nostalgia hit, Treyarch has confirmed that Standoff, Meltdown, and Fringe will all be returning in Season 1. The latter of the bunch will be joining Black Ops 7 with its mid-season update, which usually arrives approximately one month after the season begins.
