A new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 leak has given an exciting insight into Treyarch's post-launch plans for the upcoming shooter. If true, it looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players will have tons of content to enjoy in the game's first few months.
It was somewhat surprising to see Call of Duty go for back-to-back Black Ops games, following the release of Black Ops 6 last year. It follows a more recent trend established by the back-to-back releases of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3 in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Historically, the series has always allowed its many subseries to have a year's break (or more) before returning to the same well, but that is no longer the pattern. Regardless, this is Call of Duty, and there is still a legion of fans ready to enjoy whatever Treyarch is cooking up for Black Ops 7.

Black Ops 7 Could Enjoy Tons of Post-Launch Content in Seasons 1 To 4
In a new leak from reputable insider TheGhostOfHope on X, it is claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Seasons 1 to 4 will have a lot of content compared to usual. This will allegedly give the necessary time for the game to taper off so that marketing for Call of Duty 2026, long rumored to be Modern Warfare 4, can begin to ramp up. TheGhostOfHope says that this will be helped by Black Ops 6 apparently holding back some post-launch content for Black Ops 7.
They also claim that Treyarch and Raven Software are being told to "leave nothing on the table for Black Ops 7 and Warzone because the engine upgrade for MW4 which has been told to me to be very significant would require those assets to be heavily reworked." In a follow-up post, TheGhostOfHope claims that this expanded slate of post-launch content will include all Black Ops 7 game modes, and not just traditional multiplayer.
If TheGhostOfHope is correct in this instance, it has particularly exciting implications for Call of Duty 2026, which they went on to describe as "a significant upgrade... Like UE4 to UE5," while also claiming that the future game will be dropping support for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. But that's still a long time away. In the meantime, fans are still discovering new details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which is set to launch on November 14, 2025.
