Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 introduces new features and movement mechanics to the series, so you'll need to change your controller settings to compensate for the fast-paced action. The Black Ops 7 controller settings menu looks similar to the one in Black Ops 6, but there are a few key differences to be aware of.

Black Ops 7 doesn't go all the way with jetpacks and jump boosters, but you can still wall jump to reach new areas and throw off your opponents during gunfights. This is on top of omnimovement, which has seen some tweaks since its introduction in Black Ops 6. These are the best controller settings for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Best Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Controller Settings

Controller Settings

To change your Black Ops 7 controls and aiming settings, open the settings menu and then navigate to the controller section.

Make sure your aiming input device is set to controller if you're playing on PC, otherwise you'll have to use a mouse whenever you load into a match.

Button Layout is the first thing to change. Most players prefer the Tactical setting, which swaps the melee and crouch buttons so you can slide and dive without taking your thumb off the right analog stick. If you have a DualSense Edge, Xbox Elite Series 2, or other pro controller with paddles, you can just leave your Button Layout alone.

Tactical

Staying on the Controller tab, change your Horizontal Stick Sensitivity and Vertical Stick Sensitivity to 1.50. Sensitivity comes down to personal preference, but these values are better than the default settings. Play around with the numbers until you find something you like.

Next, move down to Deadzone Inputs. Lower your Left Stick Min and Right Stick Min to 1 to make your aiming feel more responsive. Stick drift is a big problem for most controllers, though, so you may need to increase your minimum deadzone if your controller has a mind of its own. Do some testing in the firing range until you find the lowest setting that works for you.

You should also change your Left Trigger and Right Trigger deadzones to 5 or lower. This will make your triggers more sensitive, causing your gun to start firing with less pressure applied. Those fractions of a second can be the difference between life and death in a firefight.

Moving on to the Aiming tab, open the Aiming Advanced Settings section and change ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing to Gradual. This will blend the transition between your hipfire and ADS sensitivity settings so it's not as jarring.

You should also change your AIim Response Curve Type to Dynamic, but this also comes down to personal preference.

Aiming Advanced Settings

For Movement settings, it's a good idea to disable Corner Slice. It's a neat visual effect, but it can throw off your aim around corners. You can also turn on Wall Jump Assist if you're having trouble pulling off fancy wall jumps during firefights. Sideways Only is a good choice to start with. While you're on the Movement page, change Slide/Dive Behavior to Tap to Slide and set Slide/Dive Activation Delay to Short.

With these tweaks, you should have a much easier time aiming in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The new movement mechanics make the game even faster than Black Ops 6, so fine-tuning your aiming settings is crucial. Then, you can start grinding attachments for the best Black Ops 7 weapons.
