- The PlayStation 1 nostalgic charm shines in fan reimaginings, not limited to Call of Duty tributes.
- Call of Duty's Zombies fans anticipate more content and updates from Treyarch for Black Ops 6's lifespan.
A Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fan has remade the Zombies Perk-a-Colas to imagine what they could look like as part of a PlayStation 1 game. The PlayStation 1 had such a distinct graphics style, so it's interesting to see what these iconic Black Ops 6 items could look like in that era.
Call of Duty's Zombies game mode has been a staple of Treyarch's entries into the series ever since 2008's World at War. Fans are engrossed in the 16-year-old storyline, and return every time to see what the studio has cooked up next. Over the years, there have been tons of awesome Call of Duty Zombies fan tributes paying homage to the various items found in the mode. A short while back, another Call of Duty fan built an incredible LED Ray Gun, an epic tribute to arguably the most iconic weapon from Zombies. With Treyarch reinventing the wheel and keeping players engaged in Zombies, fans shouldn't expect these kinds of creations to stop any time soon.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Discover Explosive Warhead Easter Egg
Two Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players discover a surprise Easter egg on the map Warhead.
Across several posts on Reddit, user SuperVinceLand shared their PlayStation 1 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Perk-a-Colas. They have completed every single one in the game, finishing off with Melee Macchiato. Each one has its own unique style, with a low-poly version of the perk can rotating around the center. It's easy to imagine it as a pick-up from a classic PS1 game, and it's made even better by the compressed audio for each of the Perk-a-Colas jingles. This gives it a sound that is very distinctly "PlayStation 1."
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies PS1 Perk-a-Colas
For many gamers, the PlayStation 1 represents a simpler era of gaming. Looking back, its low-poly graphics, while dated, are undoubtedly charming, which is why they're so popular today. There are even a few games that look to emulate this style in the modern era. However, what is even more common is PlayStation 1 fan reimaginings, bringing modern franchises to a previous era, just like SuperVinceLand has here. For example, there was one Baldur's Gate 3 fan who gave the character Shadowheart a PS1-themed makeover, so it isn't just Call of Duty getting this treatment from gamers.
Call of Duty Zombies fans have it good at the moment. The launch of Black Ops 6's Season 1 Reloaded also saw the arrival of the new Citadelle des Morts map, which has given Zombies fans new enemies to fight, new Wonder Weapons to use, and a new Easter egg to solve. Given Treyarch's track record with Zombies over the years, players can expect even more content for the popular game mode throughout the rest of Black Ops 6's lifespan, too.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
