Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has released an exciting new Zombies trailer showcasing one of the two launch maps, a new wonder weapon, and a host of returning features. Set in the early 90s, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 picks up after the events of 2020's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and is also a direct sequel to the fan-favorite Black Ops 2. Black Ops 6 is looking to launch with 16 original multiplayer maps, and is rumored to be adding a slew of remastered Black Ops 2 maps post-launch.

It's been four years since the last round-based Zombies experience in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Since then, Zombies fans have been clamoring for a return to form for the beloved mode after Call of Duty: Vanguard's experimental Zombies experience underwhelmed a year later. Last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 became the first ever Modern Warfare entry to feature a Zombies co-op mode in the name of MWZ. The open world Warzone-style experience satisfied fans of more recent Call of Duty entries, but fans of classic Zombies felt largely disappointed by the mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Leaks Game-Changing Zombies Feature

According to freshly leaked information, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies will have a game-changing feature.

In the lead-up to the return of round-based Zombies in Black Ops 6, a new trailer dropped giving fans a deeper look at one of the game's two launch maps, Terminus, an island prison reminiscent of the fan-favorite Black Ops 2 map Mob of the Dead. The enthralling trailer gives a brief glimpse at a new Wonder Weapon, called the Beam Smasher, which emits a powerful yellow beam to slice up Zombies with. An interesting new boxing glove-wielding perk machine named Melee Macchiato was also shown giving players powerful melee punching attacks, and a new injectable serum gives players a powerful armor suit to blast their way through the zombie hordes with.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Terminus Zombies Trailer

With Black Ops 6 returning to round-based Zombies for the first time in four years, it seems fitting that it would include the return of several Call of Duty Zombies staples. This new trailer confirmed the return of the Gobblegum buffs that were first introduced in Black Ops 3. Additionally, the essential Pack-A-Punch machine, Mystery Boxes, and the often life-saving Monkey Bombs will be at players' disposal as well. The past decade of Call of Duty Zombies has seen many new systems introduced that may have over-complicated the round-based Zombies experience. Based off this trailer, it seems Black Ops 6's Zombies mode will be more refined and not as needlessly complex as some previous Call of Duty Zombies offerings.

The Black Ops 6 Terminus trailer concluded with a short tease of the game's second launch map, Liberty Falls, letting fans know they can tune into Call of Duty Next on August 28 to catch live gameplay of the upcoming Zombies map. Liberty Falls seems to be a much lighter setting compared to Terminus, as it looks to take place in a small American town. Black Ops 2's classic Jet Gun wonder weapon also made a brief blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance during the Liberty Falls tease. There seems to be a lot for fans of earlier Call of Duty Zombies games to look forward to when Black Ops 6 drops on October 25.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
