Treyarch released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 trailer with all-new gameplay of the new Zombies map "The Tomb," which is set directly after the main quest for the Citadelle des Morts map. The Tomb will be available at the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2, along with new weapons and gear.

In the new Zombies map, the team of Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey must take their newly secured amulet to the cursed dig site and into the ancient catacombs, where the elusive Sentinel Artifact is believed to be hiding. Reports from The Tomb suggest that its depths are home to paranormal phenomena going back centuries, and deep in the depths of the Zombies map lies the Dark Aether Nexus, which is where Samantha Maxis is imprisoned. At the start of Black Ops 6 Season 2 on Tuesday, January 28, players will be able to explore The Tomb and progress the Zombies storyline.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 is Finally Breaking One Controversial Trend

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has just revealed its Season 2 roadmap, and it breaks one trend that's long been a point of contention for some fans.

The newly released Black Ops 6 trailer reiterates the team's mission to head toward the very bottom of The Tomb to retrieve the Sentinel Artifact. Along the way, players will fend off many waves of zombies that lurk in The Tomb map's many intricate areas. All players start at the Dig Site area and head into The Tomb, which has many traces of ancient cultures and civilizations in its depths. As shown in the trailer, The Tomb has a network of catacombs, known as the Neolithic Catacombs, that head down into the Ossuary and the Shrine of the Hierophants. Despite being centuries old and now overrun with zombies, The Tomb's shrines and treasures are in pristine condition. Perk-A-Cola machines can also be found throughout the many areas of The Tomb, with one being the returning Death Perception Perk-A-Cola from Black Ops 4.

Players running down the dreary pathways of The Tomb will also notice traps along the walls, which can activate and damage zombies. Before long, players will fend off zombies in a massive cave containing the Subterranean Temple and Deep Excavation areas. These areas are very spacious and allow zombies to horde together, which is especially dangerous if they're led by a Shock Mimic. The Shock Mimic is one of The Tomb's new enemy types, and its razor-sharp claws can electrify unlucky players. It can also disguise itself as useful items or disorient players with its distortion camouflage. Fortunately, Black Ops 2's Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon makes a return in The Tomb, and it could prove useful against the Shock Mimic.

The main quest for The Tomb will have players open the "Doorway to Nowhere," which leads into the Dark Aether Nexus. Only a few seconds of the area was shown in the latest trailer, but the few glimpses reveal a massive area full of spires and overgrown mushrooms. The Dark Aether Nexus likely serves as the final stop for the main quest, and players who have trouble getting there may want to try out Directed Mode in Black Ops 6, which helps guide newcomers through objectives.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
