Treyarch has rolled out another Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta update on September 8. This may be the game's final patch before the Black Ops 6 beta comes to a close.

The 2024 installment in the long-running shooter series was available in early access beta over the six-day period ending September 4. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 open beta then kicked off on September 6. Treyarch has been revising the game throughout both of these testing periods.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gets Third Open Beta Update

This trend has now continued on September 8, when the developer pushed out yet another Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta update, its third such patch since September 6. One of the highlights of this release is a new map, Stakeout, which can be accessed via the Gunfight Strike playlist. Gunfight can now also be played on the previously debuted Gala map.

Black Ops 6 Open Beta Is Concluding With Double XP Event

The newly launched update also adds Kill Confirmed to the available Black Ops 6 Face Off modes, which were originally introduced during the beta's early access phase on September 2. The arrival of this patch also marked the start of a double XP event, which officially kicked off at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 7pm CET. Seeing how the open beta will conclude on September 9, this promo is likely to run until its very end, although Treyarch hasn't explicitly confirmed this. Ditto for the ongoing double Weapon XP event, which started on September 7 and remains live as of the following day.

Although the Black Ops 6 open beta offers some rewards to its participants, one's level and weapon progression will not carry over to the full game. These double XP events that are currently running in parallel are hence exclusively geared toward speeding up the game's progression curve for testing purposes rather than offering players meaningful opportunities for cost-effective grinding. One final change introduced with the September 8 update concerns server-side stability, which Treyarch said has been improved, albeit without providing any further details on the matter.

Black Ops 6 is scheduled to be released on PC and the latest two non-Nintendo console generations on October 25. It is also coming to Xbox Game Pass on that date, thus being set to become the first Call of Duty entry to reach Microsoft's subscription service on day one. In preparation for this release, Microsoft recently implemented some tier changes that will require its subscribers to pay for either PC Game Pass or XGP Ultimate in order to continue receiving access to day-one titles.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
