Since the first Modern Warfare, the Call of Duty series has heavily emphasized Killstreaks and Scorestreaks. Originally earned from racking up impressive kill counts, players can now earn them by mixing eliminations with focusing on match objectives like capturing a point or collecting dog tags. These Scorestreaks can further contribute to a player's overall score in a match, with some able to earn more points than others. These streak rewards have helped Call of Duty stand out compared to other shooters over the years. One Black Ops 6 player has noticed that a modern Scorestreak is typically ignored beyond their use of it.

Reddit user Pilgore1 recently shared a screenshot highlighting the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Scorestreaks. Scorestreaks like the Napalm Strike, Hand Cannon, Hellstorm missile, and Watchdog Helo are showcased in the image, but the gamer emphasizes the Interceptors. Unlocked when a player reaches 1150 points, or 1050 with the Black Ops 6 Dispatcher Perk equipped, the Interceptors eliminate enemy air targets. A squad of fighter jets flies over the map twice to ensure that these targets are destroyed. Air targets that the Interceptors can eliminate include UAV, Counter UAV, Chopper Gunner, Watchdog Helo, and more.
Not Many Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Use the Interceptors Scorestreak
Despite being used by a small portion of the community, Interceptors can help Black Ops 6 players overcome a dominant team. As many Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Scorestreaks are airborne, the Interceptors can even the playing field if the enemy team has called in multiple aircraft. One key disadvantage to using the Interceptors is the required points to unlock them. As it's in the same category as the Watchdog Helo and A.G.R. Mk 1, gamers may choose the alternatives to rack up more eliminations. Call of Duty players are also known for playing aggressively, often dubbed running-and-gunning, so Scorestreaks that provide offense are often favored over defensive ones.
As Treyarch added the Hand Cannon Scorestreak with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Season 1 update, more may be added in the future. With more Scorestreaks potentially being added, the Interceptors may not be the only underutilized option for long.
