A new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 advertisement has The Replacer popping up in gamers' mailboxes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is Treyarch and Raven Software's widely anticipated next release in the franchise, and it appears that the developers and publisher Activision are going all-out on many aspects of this game, including advertisements.

One aspect of Black Ops 6 that has gamers hyped is the return of classic features, including maps. Nuketown is back in Black Ops 6, and fans of the series are just excited to see it in its original form. In the same vein, an ad campaign that drew plenty of positive reception from players is also making a comeback. Back when Black Ops 2 was released, The Replacer, played by Peter Stormare, showed up in ads, standing in for gamers' lives while they got to spend their time playing Black Ops 2. He's returned to do even more this time.

Reddit user Nicky_G_873 shared a picture showing off the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ad they got in the mail. The Replacer, from some of Call of Duty's most popular ad campaigns, has taken over People Magazine's cover, fictitiously featured as this year's "sexiest man alive." It's easy to be caught off guard by this advertisement, but that element of surprise seems to be the point of the ad campaign, having Black Ops 6 show up in unexpected places. On social media, Call of Duty has doubled down on the joke of this magazine cover, insisting that The Replacer just happens to be fit for the position.

The Replacer Comes Back For Black Ops 6

The Replacer ads haven't stopped there. Videos showcase the character taking on all sorts of odd jobs as gamers wait for Black Ops 6, including taking over as the Pope. On top of real-world controversy, Black Ops 6 also plans to bring back more controversial aspects to the game despite some pushback from fans. The Last Stand perk is returning in Black Ops 6 and gamers have voiced their dissatisfaction with it. Now called Morphine Injector, players that use the perk can be revived by teammates or self-revive by getting a kill once they've been downed. Although people believe Last Stand was removed for good reason, the team at Treyarch appears interested in taking some risks.

The upcoming game is not just full of old features. Black Ops 6 will be implementing omnidirectional movement and upgrades to the HUD. Omnidirectional movement will enable running and sliding in any direction, potentially changing the skill ceiling when it comes to basics such as navigation. Treyarch is showing ambition when it comes to displaying Black Ops 6's potential. The inclusion of ad campaigns that older fans loved is just one way of emphasizing that Black Ops may be back as many remember it, while including updates to keep everything fresh.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
