Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Squid Game crossover is now live, and players trying out Red Light, Green Light may want to make some controller adjustments. This event brings a variety of features from the series to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, like a special battle pass and limited-time game modes. As one of the many notable games from Squid Game, players in Red Light, Green Light have to make it to the opposite end of a field while they are allowed to move. However, once players are told to stop, they must cease moving immediately. Otherwise, they are eliminated if they don't stop in time. While this seems straightforward, players have been having issues with the game.

The main problem that Red Light, Green Light players have been facing is that, despite stopping when they are supposed to, they are still being detected as moving, resulting in elimination. On Reddit, player vfxdude69 posted the question, "Anyone else literally putting their controllers down/hands away from keyboard, just dying when completely still? It's so random but frustrating." This has ignited discussion among fellow Black Ops 6 players who are experiencing the same issue, and thankfully, there appears to be a fix.

Annoying Black Ops 6 Zombies Bug is Still Broken Despite 'Fix'

It seems a particularly annoying Black Ops 6 Zombies bug has not been fixed, despite appearing in the patch notes of a recent update.

Playing Red Light, Green Light in Black Ops 6 May Require Some Controller Adjustments

  • According to some players, changing one's deadzone settings to at least 10 could do the trick.

In response to vfxdude69's frustrations, Accomplished_Owl3460 claimed, "Check your deadzone, put your left and right stick minimum 10, so even the littlest movement won't be detected. It should work after this." Since posting that reply, other players have responded stating that the trick works. While it's unclear why the game is set up this way, it seems as though this specific adjustment is one of the surefire ways to make it through a round of Red Light, Green Light without getting wrongly eliminated.

Deadzone settings in Black Ops 6 change how much movement is needed on an analog stick before the game registers it and reacts.

There May Be Multiple Fixes to the Red Light, Green Light Issue

While the deadzone adjustment is the most popular fix mentioned in the Reddit discussion, it may not be the only way players can better ensure a Red Light, Green Light victory. According to player Strong_Context5287, "Seems for me it was voice activated. After I muted my mic I was able to survive." So, for players who may still be struggling even after changing deadzone settings, turning off voice recognition may be the next best option. Since the event launched, there have been several issues plaguing the Black Ops 6's Squid Game crossover, leaving many players frustrated.

Black Ops 6's Recent Rough Patch Continues

Despite launching to relatively favorable feedback, Black Ops 6 has been facing a rocky road as of late. From claimed long-running glitches in Free-For-All to criticism of the game's microtransactions, some players have found the game in need of improvements. Of course, Black Ops 6 is only a few months old, so there is still time to fix certain issues that have been the source of players' frustration. However, there is no telling when certain bugs and glitches will be fixed.

Black Ops 6's Squid Game crossover event is scheduled to end on January 24.

As of now, it's unclear whether developer Treyarch purposefully designed Red Light, Green Light to be as difficult as it has turned out to be for some players or not. Squid Game boasts plenty of challenging trials, but eliminating players when they are standing still has kept the mode from being enjoyable for some. While this issue can be frustrating at the start, it's at least good to know that changing deadzone settings and disabling voice recognition might do the trick.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
