While weapon blueprints in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 already make guns look awesome, there are some cool designs locked behind certain blueprints that players may not want to use. Now, Treyarch has added blueprint swapping to Black Ops 6, allowing players to mix and match attachment skins and create entirely unique looks for their favorite weapons.
Previously, changing the attachments on a weapon blueprint in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 would remove some of the cooler animations and effects or leave players stuck with an unsightly plain attachment tacked onto their fancy weapon skin. Now, attachments from different weapon blueprints can be combined in any way players want. This even works with Mastercraft blueprints to a degree, but there are some special exceptions.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Is Struggling to Retain Players
New data suggests Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is struggling to retain players compared to previous entries, despite being available on Xbox Game Pass.
How to Customize Weapon Attachments in Black Ops 6
Following the launch of the Season Three Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, players can customize their weapon blueprints with different attachment skins. Attachments can be changed from the Skins menu of the Customize tab in the Gunsmith when customizing weapons. From there, players can swap attachment appearances and incorporate attachments from different weapon blueprints.
Attachment skins can also be changed when editing weapon loadouts. When equipping an attachment in the Gunsmith, the Skins menu for that attachment can be opened by pressing Triangle/Y on PlayStation/Xbox or the 5 key on PC.
This process works for all blueprints in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but some Mastercraft blueprints have parts that cannot be changed. Some Mastercrafts have a "built-in Mastercraft look" that changes how certain attachments like barrels and stocks appear. While other parts of those Mastercraft weapon blueprints can be customized, the built-in attachments are locked in.
This change opens up several new avenues for customization in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and it gives players even more reasons to log in and claim free weapon blueprints from limited-time events or browse the in-game store for some new skins for their favorite weapons.
