Summary
- A Black Ops 6 player has discovered that the Essex Model 07 has a misaligned scope.
- The Marksman Rifle was added to Black Ops 6 and Warzone with the shooter's Season 4 update last month.
- This is not the first time that this issue has happened, as the Kar98k from Modern Warfare 3 still has a misaligned scope in Warzone.
An eagle-eyed Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 player has discovered that the scope on the new Essex Model 07, a Marksman Rifle that was added to the game with Season 4, is not centered. Although this might not seem like much of an issue, the misalignment of a weapon's scope can result in players missing their shots and potentially losing battles in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or Warzone, and it's not the first time this has happened either.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's big Season 4 update launched on May 29, but the update has already caused multiple controversies. While players are now finding weapons with misaligned scopes, Call of Duty fans have already blasted the game's Season 4 update for a multitude of other reasons. Although the game's Season 3 update was heavily praised, Season 4 seems to have set the game back once again as it introduced stability issues, server lag, bugs, and more. Fans were also disappointed after Raven Software announced it would replace Battle Royale Solos from Call of Duty: Warzone in favor of Battle Royale Casual Solos, an identical game mode with one major difference: most of the players in the lobby are bots.
Call of Duty Players Can Claim Free Black Ops 7 Calling Card
To celebrate the worldwide reveal of Black Ops 7, Activision gives Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players the chance to get a new Calling Card.
Black Ops 6's Essex Model 07's Scope Is Misaligned
It has been less than two weeks since Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 4 launched, but players are already discovering a serious issue with the Essex Model 07. The new Marksman Rifle is available for free in the Season 4 Battle Pass, but Reddit user Professional_Read482 recently noticed that the weapon's scope is not centered. In a new post, the user said whenever they put a scope and a laser on the Essex Model 07, they don't match up. They say they checked with numerous other scopes, and the problem remains the same every single time. Other users, such as D34D0ne chimed in, saying that the gun is a "broken mess" as it also seems to have an issue that is preventing it from causing damage to enemies, even if a hitmarker appears.
Sadly, this isn't the first time this issue has happened in a Call of Duty game. After launching in 2023, Warzone players are still waiting for the Kar98k from Modern Warfare 3 to be fixed, as it has exactly the same issue as the Essex Model 07. The scope on the popular weapon has reportedly been misaligned in Warzone ever since it was released, but developer Raven Software has never deployed a fix for the issue. Two years later, fans are still attempting to bring attention to the problem. Given that it still remains an issue, there's a strong chance that the Essex Model 07 meets the same fate and remains broken forever.
While Black Ops 6 continues to receive new seasonal content updates, Treyarch Studios recently surprised fans by revealing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during the Xbox Games Showcase. The mind-bending teaser trailer closed the show and revealed that the next instalment in the franchise will be a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Set in the year 2035, the world is ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare. Fan-favorites David Mason and the villainous Raul Menendez will make their return and continue the Black Ops story.
