[UPDATE: The in-game event tab confirming the upcoming Double XP event for Black Ops 6 has been removed. It currently remains unclear if the event will still go ahead as planned. The original story follows]
Summary
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's first Double XP event is set for January 30, according to the in-game event tab.
- The event will feature Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Gobblegum earn rate.
- Season 2 kicked off on January 28, with three new weapons available in Black Ops 6's new Battle Pass.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch Studios has set the next Double XP event for January 30, according to a new in-game event tab. The last Double XP event was only held earlier this month, but with Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 now in full swing, the development studio is likely eager to bring in as many players as possible for the first weekend of the new season.
Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone kicked off on January 28, adding three new multiplayer maps, weapons, and more into the mix. The new season added plenty of new content for Multiplayer fans, but Warzone players weren't so lucky. Prior to the launch of Season 2, publisher Activision announced that the new season would include less content than originally expected for Call of Duty's Battle Royale title. This is due to a myriad of ongoing bugs, glitches, and general gameplay issues that have been plaguing Warzone players since the launch of Season 1 last year. The studio says it will be prioritizing gameplay tuning, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements for Season 2.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: After the Tomb, The Writing is on the Wall For CoD Zombies’ Story
Unless something drastic changes, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies’ narrative will likely turn out to be a letdown, as indicated by The Tomb.
According to the in-game event tab (and spotted by CharlieIntel), Treyarch Studios has set the next Double XP event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for January 30. It is currently unclear how long the event will last at the time of writing, as the studio has not released an official statement regarding the new Double XP event. However, most events usually last throughout the weekend and into the following week, which means fans can likely expect approximately 4 or 5 days of Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Gobblegum earn rates. This specific Double XP weekend will not feature Double Battle Pass XP, as per the in-game event tab.
What Time Does The Next Double XP Event Start in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?
- Thursday, January 30 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET
The upcoming Double XP event will give players the chance to level up all of the new weapons included in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2. Available at launch via page 3 of the Battle Pass is the Feng 82, which is a fully automatic light machine gun with a slow rate of fire and high damage. Then, on page 6 is the PPSH-41, an iconic submachine gun that has featured in numerous Call of Duty titles over the years. Finally, on page 8 is the Cypher 091, a brand-new fully automatic assault rifle with a slow rate of fire but great handling and mobility. All of these weapons can be obtained for free via the Season 2 Battle Pass.
Season 2 has plenty of other content to get stuck into too, including a new Terminator event coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on February 6. The event will operate similarly to past Call of Duty events, with a total of 13 rewards up for grabs during its two-week duration. Players simply need to collect skulls in-game (which have a chance to drop from enemies when eliminated) and then spend these skulls in the event tab to unlock new rewards. Skulls can be earned in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, with the latter requiring players to open caches or eliminate opponents.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
