Activision and Treyarch have launched a new playlist update for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta, adding the new Face Off 6v6 mode and two new Strike maps. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta is available in early access to Xfinity Rewards members and players who pre-ordered the new game, but the beta will soon open for all players.
The Black Ops 6 early access beta began on August 30, just two days removed from the Call of Duty NEXT event. In the beta, players may learn about Black Ops 6's Omnimovement system in a dedicated training course, head into a limited core playlist, and progress up to level 20 during the first weekend. The beta will evolve over its duration, thanks to a few playlist updates from Treyarch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Censors Controversial Calling Card
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 censors a controversial calling card that players could equip in the game's beta test.
The latest playlist update for the Black Ops 6 beta is now live, giving players access to the Face Off 6v6 mode and the Pit and Gala 6v6 Strike maps. According to the mode's description in Black Ops 6, Face Off features standard game modes like Team Deathmatch with Scorestreaks disabled. During the first weekend of the beta, players may enjoy matches of Face Off Team Deathmatch and Face Off Kill Confirmed. Since Face Off is a 6v6 mode, players may join and load into matches taking place on the Pit and Gala maps in Black Ops 6.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Playlist Update Adds Face Off and Two Strike Maps
-
Face Off includes standard 6v6 game modes with scorestreaks disabled
- Update adds Face Off Team Deathmatch and Face Off Kill Confirmed
- Pit and Gala 6v6 maps
The Pit map is set in a small subsection of a Russian mining tunnel that runs through a cave. The ventilation shaft running along the top of the cave lets in the only natural light in the Pit map. After spawning, Black Ops 6 players may simply follow the trail of overturned mine carts to reach the center of the map. Unlike Pit, the new Gala map is set inside a building that hosted an annual fundraising event, with American flags adorning the ceiling. Gala is just as small as Pit, so players can expect intense gunfights while heading toward the lounge section in the middle of the map. With the Stakeout map from weekend one, the Pit and Gala maps round out the eight maps included in the Black Ops 6 beta.
Another playlist update is expected during weekend two of the Black Ops 6 beta, which begins on September 4 for all platforms. Weekend two will last until September 9 and feature a Face Off version of the Kill Order mode, alongside the returning Gunfight mode. Call of Duty fans who continue to play in weekend two may continue to progress and unlock exclusive rewards in Black Ops 6, such as "The Redactor" weapon blueprint and the "Earning Stripes" emblem. These rewards will be available at the launch of Black Ops 6 on October 25.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
