Call of Duty: Best Crossover Skins

Cosmetic purchases and unlocks are a core part of modern multiplayer gaming, be they weapon cosmetics, character skins, or profile enhancements. Players love to customize their appearance in-game to represent individuality or showcase their hard work by unlocking a certain cosmetic. Since the inception of Fortnite Battle Royale, however, in-game cosmetics have leaned more and more into the realm of tie-ins and crossovers from other games, celebrities, movie characters, and much more.

One franchise that has embraced the trend of crossover cosmetics is Call of Duty. Since the release of Modern Warfare (2019) and Warzone, the Call of Duty games have been packed full of crossover cosmetics. These often feature an operator skin, alongside a plethora of other themed cosmetics such as weapon blueprints or calling cards. These allow players to showcase their individuality on the battlefield and represent characters from their favorite media franchises.

7 Daryl Dixon

Modern Warfare 3 (2023)

Daryl Dixon is the right-hand man of Rick Grimes and the eventual main protagonist of The Walking Dead TV series and its spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Played by Norman Reedus, Daryl was an original character for the show, not included in the comics. Despite this, he became one of the most beloved and compelling characters over the course of the series.

Daryl Dixon was an operator released in Season 6 of Modern Warfare 3 (2023). Players could obtain Daryl through the Walking Dead Daryl Dixon operator bundle. This bundle came with two variations of Daryl Dixon: his original poncho outfit, and his attire as a soldier of the Commonwealth from season 11 of the show. The bundle also came with three weapon blueprints, one of which was entitled 'Lil Ass Kicker,' a reference to the nickname he gave Rick's daughter, Judith. The bundle also came with a sticker, loading screen, and finishing move.

6 Shredder

Shredder is the main antagonist of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, a famous and tenured franchise spanning TV, movies, comics, action figures, and video games. Shredder is the leader of the criminal group called The Foot Clan, and wears a metal suit of samurai-inspired armor that is equipped with blades.

Players could obtain the Shredder operator skin as a part of the Shredder Tracer Pack, released for Modern Warfare 2 (2022). This pack came with a more lightweight version of Shredder armor, with less armor and more cloth showing underneath, more akin to some animated series Shredder appearances. This pack also came with unique tracers for the three included blueprints, as well as a skin for the Heavy Tank, a finishing move, a sticker, a charm, and an emblem.

Michael Myers is possibly the most iconic slasher villain, and one of the most iconic villains in horror altogether. Introduced as the main antagonist of the Halloween series, a highly iconic and influential franchise, Michael Myers is a lumbering expressionless entity that lives to stalk and kill. His iconic mask and jumpsuit are etched into the history of horror and film forever.

Season 6 of Modern Warfare 3 (2023) was entitled The Haunting. It was a horror-inspired season, releasing many horror movie tie-ins, such as Art The Clown from the Terrifer films. One of these horror icons was Michael Myers, who was obtainable from the Season 6 battle pass, with an alternate appearance released as part of the Blackell battle pass.

4 T-800 Terminator

The Terminator is a critically acclaimed action/sci-fi movie that pitted Arnold Schwarzenegger as the ruthless and imposing T-800 Terminator. Whilst subsequent films were not received as well, the original Terminator movies are beloved and iconic, with excellent performances and an instantly recognizable portrayal of the titular Terminator.

Players of Call of Duty: Vanguard could purchase a bundle, allowing them to don the appearance of the main T-800 Terminator, equipped with his iconic leather jacket and sunglasses. This bundle was entitled the Terminator T-800 operator pack and included the T-800 operator skin alongside futuristic science fiction blueprints and vehicle skins. The weapon blueprints in particular took clear design inspiration from the Terminator skeletons, perfectly fitting the T-800 operator skin.

3 Homelander

The Boys is a TV series based on a comic of the same name that flips the superhero formula on its head. It is set in a universe in which superheroes are immoral and sinister corporate entities, hellbent on achieving fame and power at any cost. The TV series showcases excellent performances and a wide range of delightfully evil superhero characters that have received widespread praise from viewers. Possibly the most beloved performance is that of the diabolical Homelander, an evil and entitled 'hero' whose immaturity and insecurity causes him to reap untold death and destruction.

Players of Modern Warfare 2 (2022) could don the Homelander skin and be placed in the shoes of this sinister supe as a part of The Boys Homelander Operator Bundle. This bundle not only came with the Homelander operator skin, but a series of star-spangled weapon blueprints, matching Homelander's outfit to a tee. Players also received a laser-eyes finishing move, along with a charm of Homelander's pauldron and a few other smaller cosmetics.

Judge Dredd is a cult classic comic series, depicting a dystopian future in which the police force has mostly been replaced by Judges. These Judges are human embodiments of the law, authorized to dish out punishment to all wrongdoers, acting as judge, jury, and executioner. The titular Judge Dredd is the main protagonist,, and dishes out brutal justice to all who step in his way.

One of the more unique cosmetics in Call of Duty, the Comic Strip Judge Dredd skin was introduced in Cold War and depicts a black-and-white version of Judge Dredd, a reference to the black-and-white comic. The bundle including this operator skin also came with a full color version, alongside a finishing move and other smaller cosmetics such as a loading screen and emblem.

Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Skeletor is the infamous and beloved villain of the Masters Of The Universe franchise, a long-tenured multimedia franchise that spans TV shows, comics, movies, and action figures. Skeletor is the long-standing foil to the heroic He-Man, characterized by his nefarious cackle and dastardly antics. Skeletor is the quintessential cartoon villain, both written and voice-acted to perfection to embody a cheesy fantasy villain archetype.

Skeletor was released as part of an Operator Pack in season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 (2022). The pack featured three cosmetic variants of Skeletor, along with a multitude of hilarious and faithfully recreated Skeletor voice lines. The pack also came with two blueprints, a finishing move, an ATV skin, a charm, a sticker, a calling card and an emblem. All the extra cosmetics were Skeletor-themed, allowing players to ensure every part of their in-game identity represented the dastardly Skeletor.
