Cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone has been a topic of conversation for fans since the game's debut. From questions of skill-based matchmaking to aim botting to players that run rampant across several game modes, the one thing that many fans don't have is proof.
One Warzone fan believes that by simply implementing a Replay System into the game, the community can help bring down cheaters and improve their skill level. By being able to rewatch an entire Warzone match from 150 different perspectives, Warzone players can confirm cheaters for reports and learn from the other players to improve their strategy.
The Replay System would be helpful not only in Warzone but also for use in Multiplayer battles in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A Replay System could allow players a chance to spectate any player they were suspicious of and grants players a chance to go back and view an entire match. Community reporting can be more efficient and offers a chance to watch longer periods of time than just the short interaction of being gunned down. The author also argues that this would be a good way to help players improve their own gameplay strategy. By simply rewatching the 1st place squad, players can learn what they did differently and improve their own tactics from observation alone.
A Report System also has a functional benefit as players can use the replays to create more community content. The author points out that social media and other platforms are already filled with content, by having a Replay System players are able to contribute more to the community. It is not an unreasonable request as theater mode has been used in previous Call of Duty games with moderate success. Watching games from other player's perspectives can give extremely useful insight to playstyle, tactics, and epic moments that are lost without it.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode included a theater mode allowing exactly what the post author is suggesting. This means that it is, at the minimum, possible to implement. Some fans suggest that a Replay Mode feature will never be implemented as it could be used to highlight the hacking problem in the CoD community, making Activision and Infinity Ward look bad. Others argue that they simply do not want to know how many players in their lobby are cheating. No matter the position, players remain mixed on the useful practicality of anything like the suggested Replay Mode.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
