Infinity Ward released a new update for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone today, and a lot of fans — namely the Modern Warfare community — aren't really happy with it. They've been asking for the developer to bring back popular playlists such as Shipment 24/7, Shoot House 24/7, and Shoot the Ship for a while now, but with the looks of the new content update, Infinity Ward isn't complying.

Modern Warfare players haven't seen the mentioned fan-favorite playlists since Infinity Ward released the November 3 update. The playlists are so well-liked because they let players automatically play on Modern Warfare's Shipment and Shoot House maps. Both are smaller arenas that allow for fun and chaotic gameplay while also making it easier for players to grind out weapon cameos like the Damascus, which can be a pain to do otherwise.

Some fans believe that the lack of guaranteed Shipment and Shoot House is due to the recent release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The idea is that Infinity Ward is trying to push players toward playing that game instead of Modern Warfare. So long as both titles are doing well, though, it's likely Activision doesn't care either way, certainly not enough to sabotage one of its games over the other. It's more likely a coincidence that the playlists haven't made their way back to Modern Warfare yet.

That said, it is somewhat strange that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare hasn't made Shipment 24/7, Shoot House 24/7, and Shoot the Ship permanent by this point. Players have been asking since Infinity Ward first introduced all of them, and they continue to do so whenever the playlists don't show up. Permanently adding them would undoubtedly put an end to this issue. On the other hand, doing so would likely break the cycling rotation system that Infinity Ward has set up for the game's playlists, as not as many players would engage with any other playlist updates.
