Mobile city building game BRIXITY releases today and is celebrating the occasion with an exclusive launch trailer. For the uninitiated, BRIXITY is a sandbox city-building game where players must rebuild Earth "brix by brix" in the year 2523. Players take on the role of the Brix-Master who must revive the planet using the purifying power of Brix and attracting Pipos to their newly build cities.

Pipos are the new citizens of Earth after some undefined disaster took place 500 years prior to BRIXITY. Players delving into the new game today will be able to create everything one can imagine of a city, from massive buildings to residential homes, thanks to the 7000 Brix available at launch. Furthermore, players will be able to do so in a free-form build mode should they prefer or engage in guided building mechanics.

Gameplay aside, this BRIXITY launch trailer focuses on the lore and world-building of the indie game. It talks about rebuilding human civilization and everything it created from the high arts to lasagna after five centuries away from Earth with the power of Brix. It explains that, lore-wise, Brix also eat up the "hot mess" left behind on Earth while simultaneously building these new structures. The act of building, then, also becomes an act of healing, with the launch trailer ending with an invitation for everyone to return to earth and rebuild what was once lost.

It seems a lot of BRIXITY's core features revolve around community, as players will be able to explore other players' cities and discover new blueprints there. Devsisters, the developer, also encourages players to share their creativity on social media and become a creator in its in-game blueprint marketplace. At the same time, players are also able to engage with BRIXITY's residents, watch the world grow and time pass, and otherwise enjoy a cozy building game.

BRIXITY is in development by Devsisters, a Korean studio that was founded back in 2007. It is perhaps most known for its Cookie Run games, but it has created around 20 entertainment and gaming apps for mobile devices since its inception. It ultimately remains to be seen how BRIXITY compares to Cookie Run or other Devsisters projects, but there's no denying that the mobile city builder game has a strong appeal within this genre.

BRIXITY releases on mobile devices on August 24, 2023.
