How To Play Brighter Shores With Friends

To add friends in Brighter Shores, you’ll first need to unlock the ‘Level Up’ quest on the Main Story quest board. This quest becomes available only after completing the first three story quests: Welcome to the Guard, Heal Captain Degreene, and Debrief.

After speaking with Captain Jal Degreene about joining the town guard, the Welcome to the Guard quest begins, where you get your first sword, activate the Hopeport Portal Stone, learn magical spells, and complete tasks like finding Delana’s bow and battling goblins. Upon learning about Captain Degreene's injury, the Heal Captain Degreene quest kicks off, leading you to collect Brown Kelp and craft a 10% Healing Potion for her. Next, the Debrief quest follows, where you report to Corporal Binns, learn the Immunity spell, and finally unlock the Level Up quest.

Once the Level Up quest is active, a ‘Community’ icon will automatically appear at the bottom right of your screen, allowing you to add friends. However, you’ll need to enable the inviting feature first through the privacy menu in order to play with friends.

To do this, click on the Settings (gear icon) at the top left of the screen and select ‘Change’ under Privacy Settings. This will open the Co-Op settings. Simply check the ‘Anybody’ option for question four: Who can you send friend invitations to?

A quick heads-up: You can also adjust other friend list settings, such as who can see you online or send you direct messages.

Now, to invite friends in Brighter Shores, tap the ‘Community’ icon, click on ‘Friends,’ go to the ‘Invite Friend’ section, and type in your friend’s full name (including the suffix if they don’t have a premium pass). If they do have the premium pass, just type their full name without the suffix. Then, hit ‘Send Invitation.’ Your friend will get a notification in their inbox, and once they accept, they’ll be added to your team. If your invite isn’t received, it’s likely because their 'Who can receive friend invitations?' Setting is disabled, and they’ll need to change it in their privacy settings to get your invite.
