One of the biggest appeals to indie roguelike turn-based title, Break the Loop, is the various mechanics that enable you to customize your run, having some form of control over the randomized events that are to play out.

One of the key aspects of Break the Loop is the ability to choose your team for each run of this roguelike adventure, compiling a party of four from twelve different characters. For this reason, knowing every character in the game and which ones establish various approaches, strategies, or synergy through their skills will come in very handy.

How To Get All Characters In Break The Loop

break the loop characters

In Break the Loop, there are twelve playable characters available in the game. However, many of these characters must be unlocked as you make progress through the roguelike adventure, as they will only become available upon completion of certain achievements. Every character in Break the Loop will fit into one of four different Classes: Specialists, Supports, Brawlers, and Tanks.

  • Specialists appear to excel at delivering consistent damage output, targeting multiple enemies, and dealing extra damage to those under the effect of status effects or debuffs.
  • Supports bring value in providing steady healing for their team and inflicting powerful debuffs and status effects against the enemy.
  • Brawlers are the DPS-based party members, playing aggressively to deal strong bursts of damage and apply powerful offensive effects or negative status conditions to the enemy.
  • Tanks are capable of taking hits on board, raising defenses for themselves and their teammates, and picking off targets.

These roles may follow many cliches found in other video games that share the same class titles, yet each character within one of these roles will feature different skills and attacks that makes them unique from one another. Due to each character having their own charm and strengths in combat, players can get pretty creative when it comes to picking out selections that will compliment one another in battle or excel in an area — such as imposing and stacking debuffs, or optimizing for maximum damage per turn.
