The popular free-to-play fighter, Brawlhalla, has consistently been collaborating with other franchises ever since its developer, Blue Mammoth Games, was acquired by Ubisoft in 2018. Similar to many live-service titles before it, the game has featured crossover characters from a wide variety of pop culture IPs over the years, from Halo's Master Chief and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's Leonardo to Street Fighter's Chun-Li and The Walking Dead's Negan. Although Brawlhall a does feature its own cast of original characters, unlike Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate and MultiVersus, collaborations have nonetheless become a defining aspect of the game.
That being said, this year has been pretty light for Brawlhalla in terms of crossovers so far. Up until recently, the only franchise Ubisoft's 2D platform fighter had collaborated with in 2024 was the Star Wars series. While this event did add a wealth of major features to the game, including new maps, emotes, skins, emojis, and avatars, it was somewhat disappointing that there hadn't been any other popular IPs that received the same crossover treatment in 2024. Fortunately, Ubisoft rectified this issue earlier this month with the release of the Vault Hunters update, which added a swath of new content to Brawlhalla inspired by Gearbox's iconic Borderlands franchise.

Brawlhalla's Vault Hunters Event Adds New Borderlands-Themed Content to the Game
Every Borderlands Character in Brawlhalla: Vault Hunters
- Lillith - Epic Crossover Skin for Reno
- Tiny Tina - Epic Crossover Skin for Scarlet
- Krieg - Epic Crossover Skin for Barazza
The Vault Hunters update was announced near the end of July and went live on August 7, 2024. The event brought with it some new cosmetics, the most notable among them being three Epic Crossover characters from the Borderlands series: Lillith, Tiny Tina, and Krieg. As is the case with previous collaborations, these Epic Crossover characters are not their own standalone Legends, or playable fighters, but rather skins for existing characters in the game. Lillith, for instance, is a skin for the gun-toting, alien bug cowboy Reno. Meanwhile, Tiny Tina is a cosmetic for the steampunk inventor Scarlet, while Krieg is also a skin for the wastelander with a diesel-fueled heart, Barraza.
Despite the fact that Epic Crossover characters are essentially just costumes for existing fighters, the skins from the Vault Hunters update do feature some unique skills. Indeed, Lillith, Krieg, and Tiny Tina all have special Signature Attacks that are inspired by their abilities from the Borderlands games. While Lillith can utilize her Phasewalk Action Skill and Firewalk wings in Brawlhalla, Krieg can turn himself into a Psycho Mutant and Tiny Tina can attach explosive dolls and missiles to her weapons.
All The Other Content Added in Brawlhalla: Vault Hunters
In addition to these Epic Crossover characters, Ubisoft added two Borderlands-inspired weapon skins to the game, namely the Hyperion Yggdrasil and the Poppin' TNTina. Besides this, the notoriously talkative robot Claptrap was also included as a new Sidekick in the Vault Hunters update. Furthermore, Brawlhalla players can obtain two new avatars, or in-game profile pictures, based on the Borderlands franchise, one of which depicts the aforementioned Claptrap, while the other features the iconic logo of The Vault.
The Hyperion Yggdrasil skin can be equipped on all Legends that use Cannons, while the Poppin' TNTina is equippable on all Legends that use Blasters.
Cost of All Borderlands Cosmetics in Brawlhalla
Like with previous crossover events in Brawlhalla, none of the cosmetics added in the Vault Hunters update are available for free. Instead, players will have to purchase a special currency known as Mammoth Coins in order to buy and use any of these items. The Epic Crossover characters are, by far, the most expensive cosmetics in the event, as they all cost 300 Mammoth Coins each. The Claptrap Sidekick is the second-priciest item from the Borderlands crossover, as it sells for 80 MC.
The weapon skins, meanwhile, cost 60 MC each, while the avatars are only 30 MC a piece. It's important to keep in mind, though, that players cannot purchase any of these cosmetics directly. Rather, they'll either have to obtain them through the purchasable gold track of each seasonal battle pass or buy them outright in one of the Mammoth Coin bundles available in Brawlhalla's online store, the cheapest of which goes for $5.99.
