Brawlhalla has been a popular choice for fighting game fans looking for a similar experience to Super Smash Bros. Since its full release in 2017. The game sports a sizable roster of 55 characters with a wide variety of unique playstyles and has often been praised for its depth as a competitive game and art style. The platform fighter has also become notable for its frequent crossovers with a wide variety of games and media franchises. Now, developer Blue Mammoth Games has revealed its newest collaboration with one of publisher Ubisoft's biggest franchises.
Throughout its history, Brawlhalla has teamed up with a plethora of different franchises to bring a sprawling roster of crossover characters into the game. The most recent crossover saw Brawlhalla teaming up with Hasbro's iconic toy line G.I. Joe to bring Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow into the chaotic action. Franchises like Street Fighter, Shovel Knight, and even the WWE have been featured in past crossovers with Blue Mammoth even bringing in Ubisoft's own Rayman as a permanent addition to the game. Now, Brawlhalla is partnering with Assassin's Creed to bring in a pair of legendary assassins.
A new trailer released by Blue Mammoth Games Wednesday officially revealed Assassin's Creed's Ezio and AC: Valhalla's Eivor would be joining Brawlhalla. The trailer shows Eivor being whisked into the world of Brawlhalla before introducing Ezio as the newest Legend. The trailer shows off Ezio as a quick, close-range fighter with plenty of techniques allowing him to stick to enemies and follow up his attacks. Ezio will also release with several skins referencing his appearance in other Assassin's Creed games including Assassin's Creed Revelations and wearing the Armor of Brutus.
Eivor will be introduced to the game as an "Epic Crossover" with a dedicated roster spot within Brawlhalla. The trailer shows off both Eivor's male and female variants within the game, though the trailer only features the female version's voiceover. Players will be able to switch between Varin's Axe and Gungnir when playing Eivor, and the character will also "feature custom Signature effects." The update will also introduce a new game mode in Bounty, new stages, and a variety of Assassin's Creed-themed cosmetics.
Assassin's Creed's newest collaboration with Brawlhalla comes as the franchise looks to have much in store for fans in the future. Ubisoft apparently has several projects in development for the franchise including the recently delayed Assassin's Creed Rift and leaked mystery project Assassin's Creed Red. The developer is also reportedly working on Assassin's Creed Infinity as a major project to shift the franchise into a live-service model. Ezio and Eivor's addition to Brawlhalla will mark two more iconic characters added to the game's massive star-studded roster.
Brawlhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5 Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
