Amazon's big Bosch: Legacy marketing ploy has been focused on pushing Harry Bosch out the back the door, but Titus Welliver and the fans have other ideas. The focus in the lead up to the release of the 'final season' has been all about the abrupt cancelation, and the now viral campaign to save the show, leaving Amazon in a really tight spot.

Bosch: Legacy's final season promotional tour kept Titus Welliver very busy in the lead-up to premiere day. Fans were keen to find out more about Harry Bosch's final case, and whether or not there might be a reprieve for the ex-LAPD detective turned private eye after Amazon canceled the show back in September 2024. In an interview with The Today Show, Welliver was asked about the Save Bosch: Legacy petition by host, Al Roker:
I, along with a ton of other fans, when we heard this is allegedly the third and final season of Bosch: Legacy, people were really upset. And there's an online petition about it. And unlike a lot of times when the actor distances from it, you are all for this, and you'd love to see this character continue.
The petition has come a long way since it was launched in the aftermath of Bosch: Legacy's cancelation over six months ago. The now-viral campaign gathered pace in the lead up to Bosch: Legacy's final season premiere, when Titus Welliver supported it on Spike's Car Radio podcast. Welliver spoke more about his appreciation for the fans who have backed the petition on his first ever appearance on The Today Show:
The fans and the goodwill towards the show has been amazing. They've gotten out there with this petition and things like that. I always think of petitions not related to show business. I think there's an ownership with the fans, they feel it's their show, and they're going to call the shots. I appreciate it, as I know the rest of the cast and producers do.
Titus Welliver is right, the fans do have ownership of Bosch: Legacy, and they've run a great campaign to keep it in the public eye, and push for a proper ending to Harry Bosch's story. Amazon's initial lack of promotion for Bosch: Legacy looks like it's been in preparation for the introduction of the Ballard spin-off as its replacement when it airs later this year. The noise surrounding the petition is getting so loud, it's putting a dent in Amazon's grand plan for the sun to set on Michael Connelly's crime saga.

Titus Welliver Is Not Happy With The Lack Of Closure For The 'Final Season' Of Bosch: Legacy
Titus Welliver and Michael Connelly had big plans for the Bosch-verse, with Renee Ballard's introduction in the standalone final episode of Bosch: Legacy's third season originally planned to expand the crime universe. Ballard was set to run alongside future seasons of Bosch: Legacy and another brand-new spin-off featuring Jerry Edgar, which has now been axed. Harry Bosch launched Amazon on the streaming map, but they decided not to let Bosch: Legacy's showrunners' work towards an ending for the titular character. Welliver told The Today Show:
Ten years is quite a run, but there's still a lot of gas in the tank for Harry and myself.
The plans for a potential new season were exciting, with Harry Bosch set to join the San Fernando police force as a volunteer to crack more cases, and bring his story full circle. Welliver was later asked if he was happy with how Bosch: Legacy's final season ended and his response was very revealing:
It's bittersweet. Yes and no. It's a very strong season. The way that it ends, there's not any kind of closure.
Al Roker ended the segment on The Today Show with a very familiar Save Bosch: Legacy catchphrase:
