Recently, the results of a Japanese poll were revealed, and Ichi the Witch topped the ranking. The focus of the poll was to see what print manga deserves an anime adaptation, and to the surprise of nobody, Ichi the Witch came out on top. Osamu Nishi's manga has been a phenomenon in the Weekly Shonen Jump. It has been on the front page multiple times, which shows how highly Shueisha rates it. Ichi the Witch's manga volumes have been selling like hotcakes. In fact, Shueisha has had to reprint volumes because of demand. It's clear that Ichi the Witch is an exceptional series, and the higher-ups at the organization fully understand its potential.
By winning the poll, Ichi the Witch has not only beaten other new generation titles but also Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Considering the support Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki's title has received, it's safe to say that an anime adaptation of the series will be green-lit before the next Boruto anime. It's worth mentioning that Ichi the Witch's anime adaptation could potentially be announced at Jump Festa 2026, as it's usually the place where most major announcements are made.
In addition to Ichi the Witch, Kagurabachi is another manga that is teasing an anime adaptation. Recently, a domain for the series was registered, which sent fans into a frenzy. Usually, a domain is only registered when an anime is about to be announced. There is a chance that Kagurabachi's anime adaptation will also be revealed at Jump Festa 2026.

If things continue in the same direction, then there is a possibility that the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga could end prematurely. However, it is worth mentioning that the manga is performing well digitally. Fans will be hoping that the physical sales start improving, as it will increase the odds of an anime adaptation being announced.

One of the main complaints that fans have about the manga is the mistreatment of old fan favorites like Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. The two were the main highlights of Naruto, and they won over readers with their interesting personas. Unfortunately, Ikemoto has handled both characters poorly. They have constantly been presented as weaklings who cannot beat any of the newer villains. Additionally, they have lost their best powers, which has further weakened them. It feels like the two heroes have been humiliated for no reason. Even if Ikemoto wants to focus on the new generation, there are surely better ways to deal with the situation.
Even if the Boruto anime is announced, the studio needs to do a better job. Studio Pierrot has done a good job with most adaptations, but Boruto has been among the exceptions. The anime was full of filler, and it was a massive disappointment. At one point, the Boruto anime was airing filler episodes for weeks without end.
If Studio Pierrot does decide to work on Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it needs to be more careful and handle it with care. The studio must ensure that there is enough source material to be adapted. Otherwise, it will be like the initial Boruto adaptation.
