Boruto Two Blue Vortex seems to be on the right track to keeping the Naruto legacy alive. Despite the criticism, Boruto has proven to be a worthy sequel, creatively expanding the series' universe.

However, many fans don't understand why so many remarkable characters from Naruto haven't taken the spotlight. While it's understandable that the authors want to make the new generation shine, there are many characters who could have a greater impact on the series — one of them is Kakashi Hatake.

Where Is Kakashi in Boruto TBV?

Although Kakashi was a supporting character in Naruto, he amazed audiences and gained many fans. In addition to being a great mentor to the main characters, Kakashi also had an incredible backstory. And many fans vibrated when Kakashi was appointed as Hokage in Naruto Shippuden, and other developments related to him.

Kakashi is still alive in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, even though he doesn't appear in the series often. He makes an appearance here and there, but many fans find it strange that such a powerful shinobi doesn't get involved as things go down a rough way. Making matters worse, Kakashi hasn't appeared in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex yet, leaving fans uncertain if he will ever appear again in the story.

Could Kakashi Return in Boruto?

Since the end of Naruto, Kakashi has become more of a guide, even though he is still one of the best shinobi out there. However, the fact that he hasn't appeared on Boruto TBV has made fans worried. Even if he doesn't want to get involved in politics, there have been many threats to Konoha, and he could at least give Shikamaru some help. In fact, it is strange that an acting Hokage was chosen when Naruto has been presumed dead for two years. Under these circumstances, why not choose a new Kage or at least put Tsunade or Kakashi back in charge? Shikamaru temporarily acting as Hokage may be part of Eida's Omnipotence, but it feels somewhat out of place.

This could be a sign that Kakashi knows that something is wrong, even though there is apparently no reason for him to be immune to Omnipotence. Since he hasn't appeared yet, there could also be another explanation that may be provided in the future. For now, all we know is that Kakashi should still be alive, and he should still be in Konoha.

Kakashi Should Return And Train Sarada

Sarada Uchiha recently reawakened her Mangekyo Sharingan and used a new overpowered jutsu called Ohirume. Sarada already seems to have a good grasp on what she can do with it, even though she doesn't remember having awakened it before. Nevertheless, she has room to improve her techniques. Since Kakashi is a great mentor, training Sarada to improve her Mangekyo Sharingan would be the perfect excuse to bring him back into the spotlight.

In the end, the next generation always ends up surpassing the old generation.

In fact, something like that could have already happened: many fans believed that Kakashi would train Sarada during the timeskip. Since we don't know what happened to her during that time, it's possible she has already trained with Kakashi to learn more about the Sharingan. After all, Kakashi is one of the few people in Konoha who knows enough about it, and he could still help even more. Furthermore, since Sarada aims to become Hokage, it would be great to see her training with someone who was once Kage — even if an arc where she trains with Naruto happens, it will take a while.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 23 Release Date

Boruto Two Blue Vortex drops a new chapter every month. The next chapter, Boruto TBV Chapter 23, is set to be released on June 19, 2025. It will be available on MANGA Plus in English and Spanish. Kakashi is unlikely to make an appearance in the next chapter, as the series is now showing a bloody showdown between Boruto Uzumaki and Jura.
