- Boruto's evolution closely resembles Sasuke's path rather than Naruto's, thanks to his training with Sasuke.
- Boruto's power level is increasing rapidly, possibly surpassing other great shinobi, thanks to intense training and new abilities.
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the titular protagonist, Boruto Uzumaki, has come a long way since his early days. He has undeniably grown stronger, leaving no trace of his former arrogant and out-of-touch self. With so many new power-ups and techniques at his disposal, his power level increases rapidly, seemingly faster than any other character in the series.
As Boruto: Two Blue Vortex heats up in chapter 22, Boruto finally faces Jura in what appears to be their first official head-to-head fight. After their initial encounter in Konoha, a clash between them was inevitable as their ideals and goals collided. At his current level, Boruto emerges as the only shinobi with a fighting chance to challenge and possibly defeat Jura.
Boruto: Ikemoto Confirms Naruto Uzumaki Is Still Stronger Than Boruto
Boruto Uzumaki is strong, but Ikemoto has confirmed he has yet to surpass Naruto's peak.
How Strong Is Boruto Now?
Boruto Uzumaki’s Current Power Level
Boruto Uzumaki is clearly one of the strongest shinobi in Two Blue Vortex, especially after the timeskip that happened between Part 1 and Part 2 of the manga series. He has drastically grown stronger, acquiring new power-ups and learning new techniques with guidance from some important acquaintances like Sasuke Uchiha and Kashin Koji in such a short amount of time. Not to mention, the karma seal remains in his body, which many fans know holds so much power.
Contrary to initial expectations that Boruto would follow in the same footsteps as Naruto, he has instead carved a path more like Sasuke Uchiha’s. In fact, Sasuke has personally taught him everything he knows, which significantly improves his combat skills during the timeskip. Unlike Boruto’s former self, who was full of arrogance and immaturity, his present self has learned the hard way, shaping new ideals and motivations along the way.
"You've finally shown yourself, Boruto."—Kawaki
With this, it’s fair to say and assume that Boruto will only keep growing stronger. As the threat brought upon by the Otsutsuki Clan and the Human God Trees remains unresolved, the only way for Boruto to defeat them is to continue growing stronger. However, acquiring strength on his own may become an increasingly difficult challenge from here on forward, especially now that Sasuke has been turned into a tree and Naruto is sealed away in what seems like a pocket dimension due to Kawaki.
Is Boruto’s Power Level Growing Faster Than We Think?
Boruto’s Drastic Transformation
Among the characters in the series, Boruto might be the only shinobi who has evolved drastically shortly after the timeskip. His rapid growth may be surprising to so many fans, but it's inevitable, given his strong resolve to restore the Uzumaki household, protect the Leaf Village, and resist Momoshiki’s control over him. His transformation did not happen overnight, as he spent the last few years training under Sasuke, as well as with Kashin Koji.
Fighting strong opponents like Code became a walk in the park for Boruto, as his new variant of Rasengan, Uzuhiko, completely overpowered him. It is one of the strongest variants of Rasengan, if not the most powerful, given its lifetime and torturous effect on the target that only a select few could rescind. Even without relying on Karma, Boruto, at this point, could stand on his own and defeat those opponents who were originally stronger than him.
"I'll be honest with you. Killing you is easy."—Boruto
Kashin Koji’s prescience also had a huge impact on Boruto’s rapid growth. As revealed in the manga, prescience allowed the present Boruto to master his future techniques by feeding him the most relevant details to speed up the process. As a result, Boruto successfully managed to come up with a teleportation ability, which is heavily inspired by Minato’s Flying Raijin jutsu.
At this point, many fans, as with the many characters, are surprised to see the result of Boruto's training. He has become overpowered, possibly on the verge of surpassing the great shinobis who once carried the world to safety. If Boruto could control the Otsutsuki powers resting within him at will and use them to his advantage without any intervention from Momoshiki, there’s no telling how much faster and stronger he could grow than anybody else in Boruto.
