This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex continues strong, despite both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke being cut out of the plot. The series has been quite a fun read for the fans, especially as the next generation of ninjas continues to advance in the story and establish their own presence as powerful shinobi in the world. In doing so, Ikemoto and Kishimoto are setting the next generation up as the replacements of the shinobi of the old. For instance, the likes of Sarada Uchiha will eventually come to replace Naruto Uzumaki and become Hokage, and at the same time, Sasuke Uchiha, Konoha's protector from the shadows, has his own replacement as well.
It's Time To Welcome The New Itachi Uchiha Of The Naruto Franchise
Itachi has a new heir, and it's a character from Boruto.
Sasuke's replacement in Boruto was quite clear from the get-go, and fans know that it is his very own beloved pupil, Boruto Uzumaki. Boruto has trained with Sasuke for quite a long time, and just like Sasuke, he wants to protect the village to the best of his abilities. Boruto may not be on Sasuke's level yet, but he's already being set up as the long-term replacement of the Uchiha, and it's safe to say that Ikemoto is doing a great job in that regard.
Boruto Uzumaki Is The New Replacement For Sasuke In Two Blue Vortex
When the Boruto series began, fans saw Sasuke Uchiha take Boruto under his wing and train him directly every single day. Sasuke helped Boruto get stronger, but more than that, he instilled the shinobi way in him, something that Boruto was clearly lacking.
I will free you no matter what. Just wait a bit longer, Master Sasuke. — Boruto Uzumaki
By the end of the battle with Momoshiki Otsutsuki, Boruto Uzumaki was obsessed with the idea of becoming a shinobi like Sasuke Uchiha, and that was quite clear. Since then, Boruto has come a long way, especially as Omnipotent has already taken a lot from him, and it is safe to say that Boruto has made himself the perfect replacement for Sasuke Uchiha.
After 10 Years, Sasuke Uchiha Finally Unlocks A New Power In Boruto
Sasuke is getting a major power upon his return to the Boruto series.
When Boruto Uzumaki left the village with Sasuke, the latter saw to it that he learned all his techniques and fighting style properly. In terms of combat prowess, Boruto is already a copy of Sasuke Uchiha, but more than that, he carries the same ideals as Sasuke at his core. Boruto will never be the Hokage, and he never wants the praise or the credit either. He simply wants to be a protector from the shadows, just like his mentor.
Boruto Protects The Village From The Shadows Like Sasuke
Right now, Sasuke Uchiha is no longer around. This is because he sacrificed himself to protect Boruto Uzumaki and eventually, he was turned into a tree, incapacitated for the foreseeable future. In his stead, Konoha needs a protector to step in, and that's Boruto Uzumaki. Even though the whole village hates him, Boruto Uzumaki keeps a watchful eye over Konoha and he is quick to protect it from all threats.
Sasuke put his life in danger to save me, and to protect you, Sarada. — Boruto Uzumaki
Boruto doesn't want any credit, and all he cares about is for the people he loves to be safe. Be it fighting style, jutsu, power level, or devotion to Konoha and being a protector, Boruto Uzumaki has done incredibly well to become the next Sasuke, to the point where Konoha can relax even when the legendary Uchiha isn't around.
Boruto Will Surpass Sasuke Uchiha
Boruto is doing all he can to fill the hole left behind by Sasuke's absence. However, he isn't doing just that. Along with that, he is working incredibly hard to grow stronger, and eventually, he will surpass even Sasuke. Of course, in terms of legacy and popularity, Sasuke will always be over Boruto, and nothing can change that.
