This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
Naruto Uzumaki is the iconic protagonist of the Naruto series and he continues to be incredibly relevant in the Boruto story as well. Known to be the strongest shinobi of all time, Naruto is a phenomenal fighter the likes of which cannot be matched by many. Although the beginning of his life as a ninja was rough, Naruto went on to conquer the biggest obstacles of his life, and he most certainly did incredibly well to become the greatest of all time.
Boruto: Kishimoto Officially Confirms A Character That Can Beat Baryon Mode Naruto
Baryon Mode is strong, but it can't beat this overpowered Boruto character.
By the time of the Boruto era, Naruto is known to be the mightiest ninja in the world, alongside Sasuke Uchiha, strong enough to rival even the likes of the Otsutsuki. However, that was before the author started to nerf him frequently. Right now, it is quite clear that Naruto Uzumaki has been severely weakened as a ninja. As a result, there are several shinobi who have pulled ahead of him, and Boruto recently went on to confirm yet another ninja who is now officially stronger than the Seventh Hokage.
Naruto Uzumaki Has Been Surpassed By Kawaki
Kawaki Could Even Injure Jura In Combat
- Kawaki has access to the power of Kokugan
- Kawaki should be as strong as Isshiki Otsutsuki
Thanks to the exciting battles that the fans recently got to witness in the Naruto series, it can now be said that Kawaki has officially surpassed Naruto Uzumaki. Kawaki was once the vessel of Isshiki Otsutsuki, but he had his Karma removed all thanks to the efforts of Naruto.
Listen, Boruto. The whole village is my family. Not just you. Konoha is mine to protect and all those who live here are mine to take care of. — Naruto Uzumaki
Boruto: Kishimoto Reveals A New Eye In The Boruto Series, And It's Stronger Than The Rinnegan
The Rinnegan is strong, but it's far from the most powerful eye in Boruto.
Eventually, however, he had the karma reconstructed in his body and this gave him tremendous strength. Kawaki has now gone on to master the power that Isshiki blessed him with. Thanks to the Karma, he has all the experience of Isshiki Otsutsuki and he's also mastered all his abilities. While Amado had severely nerfed him, after removing his limiters, Kawaki is now a monster in combat.
In the Land of Wind, Kawaki was able to not just fight but also completely overpower Jura, the character known to be a massive threat to the world, possibly even greater than Isshiki Otsutsuki. Regardless, fans know now that Kawaki can rival him in terms of power, which automatically puts him over Naruto Uzumaki too.
Remove my limiters and I shall spare your life. I'll even offer you your wish after Jura is dealt with. — Kawaki
Baryon Mode Naruto Uzumaki Is Still Stronger
Naruto Has Now Lost Kurama
While Kawaki has, undoubtedly, pulled ahead of Naruto Uzumaki, it must be remembered that Naruto Uzumaki's peak, with Baryon Mode, is still far higher. Naruto Uzumaki was extremely strong when he tapped into his greatest transformation. In fact, he was far greater than the likes of even Isshiki Otsutsuki, as confirmed by Sasuke himself. Apart from Shibai, Naruto is the strongest character in the whole world with Baryon Mode. Strong as Kawaki is right now, he truly cannot match up to that version of Naruto Uzumaki. However, he certainly can get stronger still and close the gap.
The good thing for Kawaki is that Naruto no longer has Kurama, and that means Baryon Mode Naruto doesn't exist anymore. As he is, Naruto Uzumaki is far weaker than Kawaki and even Boruto. When he does return in the Boruto series, fans can only hope that he gets a major power-up because it would be disheartening to see Naruto Uzumaki being left behind by the new generation of ninjas, especially when he's been dealt with incredibly harshly by the authors of the series. For now, his return doesn't seem to be imminent, so fans will have to wait and see what's next for his character.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex's chapter 27 is set for its official release on October 19, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
