Naruto Uzumaki is the 7th Hokage of Konoha and the father of Boruto, the protagonist of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. As the Hokage of the village, Naruto is an extremely important character and the fact that he was the protagonist of the original story makes him even more beloved to the fans. Naruto Uzumaki has had to endure quite a lot during his life and it is through battling those hardships and overcoming the obstacles that he was faced with that he got to a position where he is as an adult.
It goes without saying that fans adore Naruto and the fact that he conquered every single one of his obstacles through nothing but kindness and hard work. Even Kurama, who was once known to be the embodiment of hatred, ended up being tamed by him and the two formed a very special relationship that epitomized Naruto's convincing powers. Fans have adored these two working together for years now, however, Boruto took them away from them when Kurama ended up dying.
How Naruto Lost Kurama
Naruto Uzumaki had grown stronger in Boruto, when compared to his self from the 4th Great Ninja War. Sadly, this power of his was not going to last. The very beginning of Boruto gave fans a glimpse of a future where Konoha was destroyed and it was very easy for fans to understand that something had happened to Naruto, or that he wasn't around as, otherwise, this state of the village would not have been possible. Furthermore, Kawaki went on to claim that he would send Boruto to the same place where he sent the 7th Hokage, meaning that Naruto was incapacitated in some form. While this did not make much sense at that point in the story, as the plot unraveled, things started getting clearer.
The threat of the Otsutsuki clan was made known and Naruto ended up fighting the strongest of the lot at the time, Isshiki Otsutsuki. Much to the surprise of the fans, Isshiki's powers were beyond anything that the story had demonstrated up until that point. To defeat Isshiki, Naruto had to ascend to the very next level and he did so by using the power of Baryon Mode. By burning up Kurama's chakra to give rise to a new form of power, akin to nuclear fusion, Naruto Uzumaki was able to take down Isshiki, however, the price to pay for this was the life of his dear friend, Kurama.
The Current State Of Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto lost Kurama in that fight, and it became abundantly clear that he would now start to get weaker than before. Losing Kurama meant that the biggest strength that he possessed was now lost. Even though Naruto had other powers within himself, such as Sage Mode, it was not even remotely close to the level of power that he held with Kurama. As such, he quickly started feeling out of place in the battles to follow. Characters such as Kawaki, Boruto, and Code, among others, felt as if they were much stronger than Naruto Uzumaki himself and that just did not feel right. To make things worse, Naruto started needing protection from the likes of Kawaki and the latter took it to a point where he decided to seal him away in a pocket dimension, called Daikokuten, where time doesn't flow.
He did this so he could kill Boruto Uzumaki, who was possessed by Momoshiki Otsutsuki, and as the story has repeatedly made clear, he is a threat to Naruto Uzumaki. As such, currently, Naruto remains sealed away and, to the rest of the world, he has already been declared dead. However, it goes without saying that Naruto will return in the future and when he does return, Kurama, perhaps, could be brought back to life.
How Naruto Can Regain Kurama
Kurama ended up burning away and, as such, there is no body left for him behind as he was a mass of chakra, to begin with. Thus, he cannot be resurrected using techniques such as Edo Tensei. As such, it is incredibly difficult for him to come back to life and, for the most part, fans had accepted that he would never return to the series and that Naruto would now be alone for the rest of his life without his Tailed Beast. However, the recent happenings in Boruto have opened up room for Kurama to return. This return can be made possible through a Shinjutsu that was recently introduced in Boruto, named Omnipotence. Omnipotence is a power that was once wielded by Shibai Otsutsuki. This power essentially allows him to turn any of his desires into reality. After Shibai ascended to a different realm of existence, Amado used his powers to give the power of Omnipotence to Ada. Ada has used Omnipotence on multiple occasions already.
Since she desired love, she subconsciously used this power to make everyone around her love her. At the same time, she recently brought forth Kawaki's deepest desires and gave them life by having him and Boruto Uzumaki switch places for everyone to see, and rewrote the entire history of the world. For someone like Ada, who has the power of Omnipotence, bringing back Kurama as if he never died in the first place would certainly be possible. It must be remembered that there are no limitations on what Omnipotence can do. It is a Shinjutsu, meaning it has godly powers and can rewrite anything in history and do whatever the user desires. Bringing back Kurama through Omnipotence would certainly be possible, however, whether Ada would aid Naruto or not remains to be seen.
