When it comes to the main cast of the Naruto series, two characters stand out the most and they are Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. Often, Naruto and Sasuke are seen as the two main characters of the story, with Naruto as the protagonist and Sasuke as the deuteragonist of this series, whom Kishimoto has often equated to Naruto in many ways. In fact, Kishimoto has even stated in the past that whenever Naruto progresses, Sasuke must as well and vice versa, and that is because these two represent Yin and Yang. A perfect balance must be maintained between these two individuals for the story to progress smoothly.
Sasuke Uchiha's journey has been absolutely brilliant for the fans to enjoy over the years, but all good things must come to an end. Sasuke has endured quite a difficult time as a protector of Konoha by the time of the Boruto era, and his perfect death has already been foreshadowed in the series 11 years ago. Sasuke Uchiha is a brilliant character but his time is slowly coming to an end in Boruto.
Sasuke Wants To Bear The Burden Of His Sins Until The End
Sasuke Was A Villain In Naruto At One Point
Sasuke's journey in the Naruto story was quite a chaotic one. Although his initial goal was simply to kill his brother Itachi for the massacre of the Uchiha clan, Sasuke's goals became more complex later down the line as he learned the truth about the darkness that was inside Konoha. Sasuke planned to annihilate those who caused the massacre of his clan and the death of his brother, and this eventually led him down a darker path.
While he was branded a terrorist across the world, Sasuke eventually had his own moment of redemption as he came back to his senses and decided to protect the world against the threat of Madara Uchiha in the Fourth Great Ninja War. By this point in the story, Sasuke had already committed many terrible crimes. The fact that he saved the world in the war ended up earning him a pardon from the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi Hatake. However, Sasuke himself never got over what he did. To this day, Sasuke bears the burden of his sins as he protects the village from the shadows at the cost of his life.
Sasuke Will Die For Konoha And Protect It From The Shadows
In the Boruto series, Sasuke Uchiha often puts his life on the line for the village and prevents anyone else from bearing the burden of protecting Konoha. In fact, when Boruto Uzumaki wanted to defend the village from the threats that sought to do it harm, Sasuke clearly put himself in harm's way, stating that he should be the only one to bear the burden of protecting Konoha because of all the sins that he committed in the past. This shows brilliant character development for Sasuke Uchiha, and for such a character, a proper finish can only end in a heroic death in the face of battle.
Of course, Sasuke fans would not want to see him die in the Boruto series, but for a character like him, a proper death can only come while protecting the village. This would be somewhat similar to how his brother Itachi Uchiha’s story ended. Itachi died as a disgraced ninja, but in his own mind, he did everything for the sake of his village and his little brother. As such, to him and to Sasuke, he died a hero. Similarly, Sasuke Uchiha might be disgraced across the entire world, but for him, a perfect death can only be one in which he dies to protect his friends and his family from any threats that seek to do them harm.
Sasuke's Death Isn't Imminent In Boruto
It is one thing for Sasuke to have a perfect death already established by Kishimoto, and another thing for him to die. As things stand, Sasuke Uchiha is likely not going to die in the Boruto series. This is because he has already been incapacitated and cut out of the story for way too long. When Sasuke does return, the chances of him actually dying are going to be close to zero. But, if Sasuke were to ever die, Kishimoto already established the perfect death for this character 11 years ago.
When Naruto ended, Sasuke decided to use whatever remained of his life to make up for his sins by protecting Konoha and helping Naruto build a new world of justice. As such, Sasuke's death has already been foreshadowed in the Naruto series, and whenever he dies, it'll definitely be for the sake of the world that Naruto built, but it isn't imminent in any way.
