Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has put quite a lot of focus on Himawari Uzumaki right from the beginning, which came as a surprise to many fans. While fans knew Himawari would eventually be important, nobody knew the extent of her importance until it was finally revealed that she held Kurama's power inside.

After Naruto Uzumaki lost Kurama, fans expected the Tailed Beast to reincarnate in the Naruto world and later reunite with Naruto. However, things took a shocking turn when Kurama was revealed to have been reborn inside Himawari Uzumaki. Now, Kishimoto and Ikemoto seem to have given a big power-up to Kurama. Unlike before, he no longer has a Jinchuriki. He is now stronger than ever before because he and Himawari share one body.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex had already made it quite clear that Himawari and Kurama share a bond in the arc before the Land of Wind was explored. But, most fans assumed that Himawari was a Jinchuriki and Kurama was the Tailed Beast sealed inside her, as was the case with Naruto Uzumaki. However, as confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 25, Himawari and Kurama share a very different relationship. Himawari is confirmed not to be a proper Jinchuriki. In fact, Kurama isn't even sealed inside Himawari at all. The fact is that Kurama and Himawari share one body and soul, and that is a big power-up in itself for him.

Fans might be confused as to how this is a power-up for Kurama. But it is quite clear that he isn't bound by a vessel anymore. Kurama and Naruto were strong together, but Kurama was still a separate entity that had to synchronize with Naruto to fight properly. Kurama could never bring out his full power, regardless of how great their synchrony was.

With Himawari, things are different. Kurama and Himawari are one. As explained by Kurama, Himawari is like Jura, the incarnation of the Ten Tails, which means that she is the manifestation of Kurama itself.
What Kurama's New Power Up Means For Himawari Uzumaki
Himawari Is Just Like Jura Now
Himawari sharing a body and soul with Kurama means that there are no barriers between the two. It also means all of Kurama's chakra is hers, and her chakra is Kurama's. There is extremely high efficiency here, and it makes Kurama stronger than ever before, just as it boosts Himawari. Above all, Kurama also confirmed earlier that Himawari has a strong Otsutsuki connection, and that in itself means that Kurama has an Otsutsuki amp on top of that he already had.
No matter which way fans look at it, Kurama just received a major power-up in Boruto, and he is now stronger than ever before, with only Jura being strong enough to rival him at full power, given that he's the incarnation of the Ten Tails, and thus stronger than the Nine Tails. In time, Kurama will grow even stronger, and when he does, Himawari will likely surpass even Naruto.
