Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is slowly developing into a very intriguing story, even without its beloved characters, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. These two were some of the most loved characters in the whole Boruto series, and it goes without saying that fans miss their absence every single day. However, Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto have done an incredibly good job at establishing the next generation of characters in a way that the loss of those two isn't felt as much anymore. Just as Sasuke Uchiha had his own heir in Boruto in the form of Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto Uzumaki had his own too.

When Boruto first started, most fans believed that Boruto Uzumaki would be the heir of Naruto, and as the story progressed, some others started believing that it would be Kawaki, simply because he was trained by Naruto. While there is some truth to that, the only one who can truly qualify as the true Heir of Naruto Uzumaki in Boruto right now is Himawari Uzumaki, Naruto's very own daughter. She carries the will of fire, just like Naruto, and on top of that, she is also the current wielder of the power of Kurama.

The biggest aid that Naruto always had with him throughout his story was Kurama, his Tailed Beast. Although the two started as enemies, Naruto eventually won him over with his kind acts and showed him that Tailed Beasts do indeed matter to him and the Shinobi of the world. Naruto Uzumaki forged a bond with Kurama that was largely irreplaceable, and fans were shocked to see when it broke during the fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki. After Kurama died, Naruto was left powerless. Soon after, however, Naruto's daughter found Kurama within herself.

Boruto: Kishimoto Just Confirmed Sasuke's Next Major Power Up After Return
Sasuke has a major power-up incoming, and it will make him stronger than ever in Boruto.
It was then revealed to the fans that Kurama had somehow reincarnated inside her. To take things one step further, Kurama and Himawari were revealed to be one body and soul, instead of being like a normal Human and a Jinchuriki. The fact that the epitome of hatred accepted Himawari means that he knows very well that she's Naruto's true successor and that she'll carry his will in life.

He Has Already Learned Everything From The Uchiha
Boruto Uzumaki, on the other hand, is a follower of Sasuke Uchiha. While fans would love to see him as a follower of Naruto, the authors turned him into a devout follower of the Uchiha way. This is certainly an interesting decision, but it works, not only because it suits Boruto, but also because it allows Himawari to step out of his shadow and be the true heir of her father, something which would never have been possible if Boruto were chosen in her stead.

Himawari Uzumaki will continue to grow stronger in the upcoming few arcs of Boruto. According to Kurama, she holds tremendous potential and she can even go beyond the level of Naruto Uzumaki, given that her synergy with the beast is even higher. She could potentially be the best user of Kurama's power, and that's what makes her so exciting to watch in the future of Boruto.
At the end of the day, both the children of Naruto Uzumaki are flourishing in Boruto, and fans can't wait to see what direction Ikemoto and Kishimoto take the story in from here on. With Boruto training in his own way to beat the likes of Shinju and Himawari being guided by Kurama, the Future battles are sure to be very exciting.
