This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 25 might've been a buildup chapter, but the bits of information the author revealed to the fans proved to be game-changing. With the Shinju being the main focus of the recent arcs, it is not a surprise to any fan that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is digging deeper into the concept of their existence as well as their power.
Boruto: Kishimoto Reveals Kurama's Latest Power Up
Kurama was strong with Naruto, but he has a new power-up, making him far more powerful in Boruto.
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 25, Kishimoto and Ikemoto went on to reveal a key detail about Himawari that completely changes the way fans view her. Most fans had assumed that Himawari Uzumaki was the Jinchuriki of Kurama, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It has now officially been confirmed that Himawari is actually a human Tailed Beast, just like Jura, and that makes her very special.
Human Tailed Beasts Are A New Concept In Boruto
They're Different From Jinchuriki In Every Way
- Jinchuriki Are Host Vessels For Tailed Beasts
- Human Tailed Beasts Are The Human Incarnation Of A Tailed Beast
Fans will, understandably, have many questions regarding what Himawari truly is and how she differs from a Jinchuriki. But, the concept itself is quite straightforward. Himawari Uzumaki is not a Jinchuriki. She didn't have a Tailed Beast sealed inside her, and there is no seal on her body. She isn't like Naruto, or any other Jinchuriki that fans saw before that. Himawari is unique. As confirmed by Kurama himself in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 25, Himawari is a Tailed Beast itself. This might be confusing to the fans, because clearly, she's human, and that's where the new concept of Human Tailed Beasts comes in.
Listen, Himawari! You are not a Jinchuriki. You're more like Jura. — Kurama
To put it simply, Himawari Uzumaki and Kurama are one. When Kurama died, he didn't simply reincarnate in the outside world. It seems that a portion of his chakra being inside Himawari Uzumaki means that he reincarnated inside her and the two now function as one entity. In other words, Himawari and Kurama share a body and soul and don't exist as two different individuals.
Only Two Human Tailed Beasts In Boruto Exist Right Now
Himawari Uzumaki And Jura Are Two Human Tailed Beasts
While Himawari Uzumaki is the latest Human Tailed Beast that fans have seen in Boruto, she isn't the only one. In fact, the first one was revealed to the fans a while ago. When the Shinju were revealed, it was stated that each of them has a parent body that they're derived from.
Jura is the incarnation of the Ten-Tails itself. — Boruto
Hidari came from Sasuke, Mamushi came from Bug, Matsuri came from Moegi, and Ryu came from Shinki. The only exception to this is Jura, the strongest of them all, who is actually the incarnation of the Ten-Tails itself. Just like Himawari Uzumaki, Jura is a human Tailed Beast — essentially a Tailed Beast in human form, and that's what Himawari is as well.
This means Himawari Uzumaki is going to be significantly stronger than any previous Jinchuriki of Kurama, since she actually exists as a Tailed Beast and has limitless power. In time, fans will truly see what a monster Himawari will become, and it is certainly going to be fascinating to witness her growth.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 26 is set for its official release on September 20, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
