Sasuke Uchiha has always been important in the Boruto series and he played a very crucial role towards the end of Part 1 of the story. While Naruto Uzumaki was sealed away by Kawaki in the dimension of Daikokuten, Sasuke Uchiha was alive and well, and fans know that he would go on to play a significant role moving forward. That's exactly what happened as Sasuke was the one who saved Boruto Uzumaki, and later down the line, he decided to train him as well. Sasuke and Boruto trained for about a year, but after that, Code, who was tailing them, finally caught up and the two engaged in a massive battle against him.

This fight was absolutely spectacular, but at the end of it, Sasuke Uchiha was turned into a tree as he was bitten by one of the Claw Grimes. Out of Sasuke's chakra, a Hitoshinju was born, and he is known as Hidari. Simply put, Hidari is a Sasuke clone in the form of the God Tree, and he holds great abilities. But, he won't be around for long. Two of the five Shinju have already been eliminated and fans know that the other three are now heading into battle. Undoubtedly, the Hitoshinju will face defeat sooner or later, and when that happens, Sasuke Uchiha will finally be free.
Why Sasuke Will Return Stronger Than Ever
Sasuke Was Stronger During The Timeskip In Boruto
While Sasuke Uchiha was not all that strong after losing his Rinnegan in the first part of Boruto, the timeskip saw him strengthen himself further. Fans know that Sasuke officially got far stronger than before during the timeskip. While he wasn't even able to graze Jigen with the Rinnegan, he managed to take the eye of Code, someone stronger than Jigen, and overwhelm him in battle, without even having the Rinnegan. Of course, Sasuke lost the battle, but it was expected as he was outnumbered and got bitten by a Claw Grime.

Boruto: Kishimoto Just Revealed A New Otsutsuki Level Character
The Otsutsuki are the most powerful clan in Boruto and Naruto. Kishimoto reveals a character on that level.
In other words, Sasuke Uchiha is already stronger than before in Boruto, and when he does return, he's going to be on a completely different level, likely capable of competing with the likes of Boruto, Kawaki, and the others.
Can Sasuke Get The Rinnegan Back?
While the chances of Sasuke getting his Rinnegan back are low, it is possible. If Hidari’s eyes can be taken, then perhaps Sasuke Uchiha can regain his eye later down the line in Boruto. It is also possible that Omnipotence can grant him his eye back.
