This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

Kawaki Uzumaki is one of the most complex characters in Boruto. He has a rough backstory, and the way he does things in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is still up for debate. In a nutshell, Kawaki is cold, stubborn, and disconnected, but his obsession with killing Boruto for Naruto’s sake is a deal-breaker for longtime fans.

Despite this, Kawaki stands as one of the strongest characters in the Boruto series. With the power of karma at his disposal as well as Isshiki Otsutsuki’s signature dojutsu, he has collected a handful of unforgettable OP moments. From fighting Garo to overwhelming Jura of the Shinju Clones, let’s take a closer look at Kawaki’s best moments.

Protecting Himawari and Naruto From Delta

Without a doubt, Kawaki excels at protecting Naruto, and the same is true for the village and the people that the Seventh Hokage cares about, except Boruto. He is willing to extend his protection to Himawari, even though he acts cold and distant to her most of the time.

When Delta infiltrated Konoha and attacked Naruto, Kawaki fulfilled his role as Himawari and Naruto’s protector. He shielded the father and daughter duo with his transformed limb just before Delta’s Destruction Beam hit them. Not only did Kawaki save Naruto and Himawari, but he also paid his debt for breaking Himawari’s beloved vase.

Sending Naruto and Hinata to the Daikokuten Dimension

As part of Kawaki’s plan to prevent Naruto Uzumaki’s death, he sent the Seventh Hokage and Hinata Hyuga to the Daikokuten dimension. He did this feat with ease, even before Naruto and Hinata could react. He became responsible for sealing Naruto, effectively taking him off the battlefield in an instant.

Unfortunately, Kawaki has no plans to unseal Naruto and Hinata anytime soon. In the presence of Jura and the Shinju Clones, he wouldn’t risk exposing them to a dangerous environment where even the strongest shinobi are being hunted like prey.

Outsmarting Isshiki Otsutsuki

Kawaki and Isshiki Otsutsuki shared a long but painful history. Kawaki was supposed to be Isshiki’s vessel, but that plan did not come to fruition with the help of Naruto Uzumaki, Boruto, and the Leaf Village. Kawaki detested Isshiki the most, due to all the trauma he suffered from his time as an experimental vessel.

As fans know, Kawaki eventually got his vengeance against Isshiki by killing him and obliterating his soul. He outsmarted the Otsutsuki with a simple shadow clone jutsu, tricking him into believing that he’s dealing with the real Kawaki just in time to control his vessel.

Giving Code a Major Beatdown

Kawaki shows no mercy to anyone who wants Naruto dead, and Code is no exception. Before Code can lay his hands on Naruto, he must defeat Kawaki, who serves as a major roadblock to his plans. However, defeating Kawaki is no easy task, as he holds power far superior to his own.

During Code’s showdown with Kawaki, the latter used a combination of attacks, from the Kokugan to the power of karma. Every attack dealt a huge blow to Code, almost as if the latter became Kawaki’s personal punching bag. Once again, Kawaki dropped cold lines in the middle of the fight, further amplifying his already intimidating aura.

Destroying Garou With Karma

Kawaki’s fight with Garou is one of the best animated fight scenes in all of Boruto. It didn’t have a slow start, with Kawaki wasting no time exchanging blows with Garou while Boruto and the rest of Team 7 watched in awe of his combat prowess. He was faster than anybody else in that group, allowing him to land direct attacks on Garou one after another.

The best part of the fight is Kawaki’s cold and iconic one-liners while he destroys Garou with the power of karma. While he hated using Isshiki’s power, he had to use karma to defeat Garou and force him into a state of submission. In the end, his arm went straight into Garou’s body, giving him the coldest stare ever.

Fighting Against Borushiki

Kawaki’s showdown with Boruto and Momoshiki is one of the best hand-to-hand fights in Boruto. Kawaki relentlessly attacked Boruto, who was under Momoshiki’s control, with a combination of techniques. He used his dojutsu to harass Borushiki, absorbing their Rasengan and returning every attack of the duo with the same power.

Throughout the fight, Kawaki never showed any weaknesses at all. He repelled every attack and returned it with the same intensity without fail. Ultimately, he bested Borushiki, nearly killing them until Naruto interfered.

Overwhelming Jura With His New Powers

Kawaki has grown stronger in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex thanks to Amado Sanzu’s adjustments. It’s safe to assume that he has surpassed Naruto in strength, and further adjustment and recalibration of his settings would give him more power in the future.

Things changed when Kawaki forced Amado to remove his limiters, adjusting his settings for offensive purposes instead of defensive protocols. While this power isn’t entirely new to Kawaki, it can still be considered an upgrade.

He tested his new powers against Jura in the Land of the Wind, where he overwhelmed Jura with his attacks, even going so far as to pin down chakra rods in the Shinju’s eyes. He also blew down a huge part of Jura’s body, showing just how powerful his attacks can be.
