This article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is not playing when it comes to testing the limits of its characters, especially Boruto Uzumaki. The son of the Seventh Hokage has been through countless life-or-death situations, and there’s no stopping the villains from coming after Boruto, especially Momoshiki Otsutsuki, the most stubborn of them all.
While Jura and the God Trees are the biggest threat now, the fact that Momoshiki Otsutsuki lies within Boruto remains. The last time fans saw him was after the Land of the Wind mission, when Boruto unexpectedly sought Momoshiki’s cooperation to take down Jura. Momoshiki might have disappeared for now, but Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is preparing for his return.
Say Goodbye To Naruto Uzumaki, And Welcome The New Strongest Character In Boruto
Naruto Uzumaki is powerful, but there is one stronger ninja in Boruto now.
Momoshiki Otsutsuki Disappears Again in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
Momoshiki Otsutsuki’s Last Appearance
- Momoshiki Otsutsuki is missing in action in recent chapters of Boruto: TBV.
- Momoshiki Otsutsuki has been keeping a low profile after the events of Boruto Part 1.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is missing quite a lot of characters right now, including Momoshiki Otsutsuki. The powerful villain in Boruto has been lying dormant, and his appearance has been a rare but ominous threat that still lingers. Unlike the Momoshiki in Part 1 of the Boruto manga, the current Momoshiki has been idling, almost as if he lacks interest in the current events happening to Boruto and Konoha.
According to Momoshiki, what interests him right now is the potential death of Boruto Uzumaki, despite it not directly benefiting him in any way. After all, Boruto’s death means death for him as well, since his very existence is now tied to Naruto Uzumaki’s son whether he likes it or not. This is probably one of the reasons why Momoshiki prefers to lie low, especially now that Boruto has significantly improved in keeping him in check.
However, Momoshiki Otsutsuki remains a major character in the story, so bringing him back is almost inevitable. Now that Boruto is facing the strongest shinju, Jura, Momoshiki’s return could tip the scales in the most unexpected way. Fighting a god would require another god, and Momoshiki’s power could be the only force capable of matching Jura’s overwhelming strength.

Momoshiki’s Deal With Boruto
- Momoshiki and Boruto will work together against Jura.
- Momoshiki will take Boruto's body in exchange for lending his strength.
To the surprise of fans, Boruto Uzumaki boldly offered a tempting deal to Momoshiki Otsutsuki in the hopes of defeating Jura and the God Trees. In exchange for Boruto’s body, Momoshiki will have to lend his strength to Boruto while fighting Jura. This isn’t exactly what fans were expecting to happen, as the idea of Boruto surrendering his mind and body to Jura is both shocking and unprecedented.
While the manga has yet to disclose Momoshiki’s response to Boruto’s offer, it is widely implied that he had already agreed to the deal, even before Boruto met with Kashin Koji and Inojin in their secret hideout to discuss Mamushi’s overpowered Division jutsu. In addition, Boruto has told Kashin Koji not to worry about Momoshiki Otsutsuki, reassuring him that their temporary alliance is under control and that Momoshiki will only act when necessary.
Could you… consider… lending me a hand? —Boruto to Momoshiki
This temporary alliance has since become a topic of discussion, with fans speculating that Boruto is now Momoshiki, while others believe they could find common ground and be like Naruto and Kurama, working together despite their contradicting beliefs. Regardless, Momoshiki Otsutsuki is set to make an appearance soon, and it may happen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28 or later.
Boruto: TBV Chapter 28 Hints at Momoshiki’s Return
Boruto Is Rushing Towards Konoha
The first official sneak peek for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28 has been released, and it shows Boruto in action, rushing towards somewhere, probably in Konoha. In the previous chapter, Mamushi was shown using Division to infiltrate Konoha and attack Eida, but Kashin Koji has been very specific in telling Boruto to take a backseat from the upcoming confrontation.
However, knowing Boruto, he isn’t the type of ninja who follows anyone’s orders, so he’s likely to charge straight into the fray despite Jura’s threat, just like what he did in the Land of the Wind mission. If Boruto moves, Jura also moves, and once a fight breaks out, this could lead to Momoshiki’s return to the scene.
