Even though Boruto Uzumaki is the main character in this story, fans absolutely cannot deny that Naruto remains to be the most important character here as well, and that is simply because of how popular and how significant he is to the Ninja world as a whole.

The Boruto series has truly not been kind to Naruto at all. Although he emerged in the story as a very powerful individual at first, he kept losing one power after another, and now, fans also have to say goodbye to his strongest transformation of all after many years. In fact, most of Naruto's transformations have been stripped away from him in Boruto, and that is truly sad for the fans to see. Hopefully, in the future of the Boruto series, fans will see new transformations being added to Naruto's exciting arsenal of abilities because he truly needs them now more than ever.
Naruto's Strongest Transformation Was Baryon Mode

As far as Naruto's strongest transformation goes, fans know that it was Baryon Mode. That said, this transformation was only a brief one because it could only be used once. In the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki, it was quite clear for the fans to see that Naruto and Sasuke could not prevail. Naruto himself knew that his powers, despite being those of the Six Paths, were not comparable to Isshiki's, who was operating on a much higher level than him. This is precisely why Kurama came up with the idea of utilizing the power of Baryon Mode.
Essentially, Naruto's own chakra, as well as that of Kurama, would be used as kernels to form a new form of energy, and this new energy would be so majestic that it would even overwhelm that of Isshiki.
This power is immense. It should definitely surpass his. But the drawbacks are too great. You see, the fact that it drains our lifespan is the key here. The concept of this transformation was simply nuclear fusion, and that is why Naruto's Baryon Mode was as powerful as it was. In terms of raw power, Naruto was even above the level of Isshiki, and aside from Shibai Otsutsuki, he was quite easily the strongest character in the entire verse of Naruto world. Baryon Mode allowed him to reach new levels of power, but it also let him shave off the lifespan of anyone he came in contact with. This is precisely why Isshiki was beaten as easily as he was once Naruto fought against him.
Unfortunately, the price to pay for Baryon Mode was massive, because Kurama ended up dying immediately after the utilization of this power. After Kurama's death, Naruto became a shell of his former self, and that is what eventually led to his sealing as well.
Baryon Mode Is Unusable For Naruto Now
Quite clearly, without Kurama, Baryon Mode is unusable for Naruto. Even if Naruto somehow had a way to use Baryon Mode, the fact is that it would eventually go on to take his life just because of how it operates as a power-up. Baryon Mode is not a sustainable power-up, nor is it a great transformation for Naruto, despite the power that it offers. That is why most fans would not even consider it a proper transformation of Naruto Uzumaki. It is a one-off transformation, and when it truly comes to the most powerful transformation that Naruto has, one needs to look at Six Paths Sage Mode.

The Six Paths Sage Mode was granted to Naruto Uzumaki by the Sage of Six Paths when the two met during the Fourth Great Ninja War. The Sage gave Naruto half of his powers, while the other half was given to Sasuke Uchiha, due to which he awakened the Rinnegan in his left eye. As far as Naruto goes, he got the vitality from the Sage and Six Paths Senjutsu. This, when combined with the Tailed Beast Chakra he had, gave rise to a unique transformation that was Six Paths Sage Mode.
Boruto: The Next Step After Baryon Mode, Explained
Baryon Mode isn't the final step for Naruto Uzumaki. His return will be major with a new power up.
To be clear, Naruto could also access Six Paths Sage Mode without using Kurama's chakra, but it was strongest when he utilised both at the same time. This transformation allowed Naruto to fight against the likes of Madara and even overwhelm the likes of Kaguya. Later down the line, Naruto even used this power against Momoshiki, and was quite clearly dominant in that fight as well. Unfortunately, Six Paths Sage Mode has also been lost now because Kurama is no longer available, and Naruto's link to all the other Tailed Beasts seems to have shattered. This is precisely why fans need to say goodbye to Naruto's strongest and most usable transformation as well.
Fans Want Naruto To Get A Big Power Up
As is quite clear right now, Naruto Uzumaki is in desperate need of a new power-up in the Boruto series. He has lost the power of Kurama, which means neither Baryon Mode nor Six Parts Sage Mode is now accessible to him. The only power that Naruto has right now is the power of Sage Mode, and that is not enough to make a difference against a strong enemy, as was clear from when Code attacked Konoha and Naruto was truly helpless.

It must also be noted that during the timeskip, Sasuke actually managed to pull ahead of Naruto Uzumaki. For Naruto, this is something very important because he needs to catch up to him now. In one way or another, Naruto needs to get stronger, and usually, he does it through unique transformations. The best way for Naruto to get stronger right now would be to seek out the other Tailed Beasts that remain in the world of Naruto and then forge a bond with them again in the absence of Kurama.
Then, Naruto would at least have the chakra of eight Tailed Beasts, and perhaps he could then utilize a pseudo version of the Six Paths Sage Mode. Of course, this would mean that Naruto would be weaker than before, but at the very least, he would still be a significant threat in the battle against the enemies that will appear later on in the Boruto series.
Another way for him to grow stronger would be to seek out scientific ninja technology, such as a new prosthetic hand that could allow him to do things that were unimaginable before. In either case, Naruto needs to get stronger, and fans absolutely cannot wait because they are losing patience with this story.
