Borderlands 4 has released another Golden Key SHiFT code that users can take advantage of to gain some cool loot in-game. However, there's not a lot of time to redeem the code for Borderlands 4, as it will expire on September 19.
The Borderlands series has tons of loot built in to the game that players can acquire from doing quests and killing tough enemies. However, since Borderlands 2, the series has also featured Golden Keys from SHiFT codes. These exclusive items allow players to open a Golden Key chest, which contains a random assortment of potentially powerful items, like weapons and class mods.

Borderlands 4 Players Have Limited Time to Get Golden Key
Now, Randy Pitchford, a frequent source of free Borderlands SHiFT codes, has released another one for Borderlands 4 players. Players can get a single Golden Key by redeeming this SHiFT code: 39RTJ-3JZTJ-C6T35-JBTT3-5TFCC. However, fans will want to be aware that the SHiFT code is only valid for 48 hours from the time that Gearbox CEO Pitchford tweeted it, so players can expect it to expire at about 3 pm PT on September 19. Thankfully, for anyone who misses the chance to redeem this code, there should be plenty of opportunities for quite some time, as Borderlands typically sees regular SHiFT code drops in the months following a new game's launch.
Unlike prior Borderlands games, Borderlands 4 includes four separate locations with Golden Key Chests that players can utilize. Players can open a chest in The Launchpad in The Fadefields, Belton's Bore in Terminus Range, Carcadia in Carcadia Burn, or The Lockaway in Dominion. Weapons level-scale with the player, so fans should keep that in mind before opting to use a Golden Key.
Even those who don't currently own Borderlands 4 or who are unable to play the game right now can still save these keys to use later on. Once a SHiFT code is redeemed, the Golden Key acquired will remain attached to a player's Gearbox account until utilized. While entering the code in-game is a valid option, players can also redeem SHiFT codes via the Gearbox website, and owning the game isn't required. Even those who are on the fence about the game or who will wait for the price of Borderlands 4 to drop can redeem the codes to ensure that they have plenty of exciting loot waiting for them should they pick it up in the future.
