Borderlands 4 fans are in for a treat today, with Gearbox set to reveal the game's first new Vault Hunter coming in future DLC. Fans can tune in to Gearbox's panel at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 later today for their first glimpse at Borderlands 4's new Vault Hunter.
The Tokyo Game Show 2025 has already proven to be a great event for gamers, with tons of announcements about exciting upcoming projects from various developers across the industry. Forza Horizon 6 was finally confirmed, Resident Evil Requiem got another outing, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 showed off multiple Japan-themed maps. However, with Gearbox's panel taking place later today, it's Borderlands 4's chance to take the spotlight.

Gearbox is Revealing Borderlands 4's First New Vault Hunter Today
In a post on Steam, Gearbox confirmed that its panel at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 will give fans an "introduction to the first of two new Vault Hunters coming to Borderlands 4 as part of the paid Story Pack* DLCs," beginning today at 10:30 PM ET. Vex, Rafa, Harlowe, and Amon make up the current lineup of Borderlands 4 Vault Hunters, and they have largely been well received by players. However, it will be exciting to see what Gearbox can do to diversify the gameplay with the new Vault Hunter.
A further post on X from the official Borderlands account has sparked further speculation by stating that it is "giving you a peek at our hand," alongside a GIF of what appears to be two cards buried in sand. The responses to the post were instantly intrigued by the possibility of a card-throwing Vault Hunter, which would be an interesting new dynamic for the Borderlands series.
According to Borderlands 4's post-launch roadmap, the game's first new Vault Hunter won't be added until Q1 2026, alongside the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned Story Pack. With that said, it feels quite early to already be revealing the new Vault Hunter, but it's a great way to build early hype for the DLC. Fans who already own the Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition will get the Story Pack and Vault Hunter included when it releases next year.
