There are countless bosses to farm in Borderlands 4, and Frank the Furnace and the Foundry Freaks are one of the best sources of loot in the entire game. You can access the Foundry Freaks very early in Borderlands 4 as well, so you can get some good gear before completing the campaign.

The Foundry Freaks are the leaders of a Ripper Drill Site in Borderlands 4, so you'll need to fight your way through waves of bandits to draw them out. Once you've defeated them for the first time, you can challenge the Foundry Freaks to a rematch at the Moxxi's Big Encore machine just outside of their camp. Here's how to find and farm Frank the Furnace and the Foundry Freaks in Borderlands 4.

How to Farm Legendaries in Borderlands 4

Legendary items are extremely valuable in Borderlands 4, and if you're having trouble getting some, try these spots out.

Borderlands 4 Foundry Freaks Location

The Foundry Freaks are located at The Pitted Stain Ripper Drill Site at the southern edge of Idolator's Noose in Borderlands 4. This area is in the Fadefields, the first region of Kairos that you'll visit during the main story. You can access The Pitted Stain no matter your character's level as well.

In order to attract the attention of Frank the Furnace and the Foundry Freaks, you have to clear the area of Rippers. They'll drill up out of the ground and attack when you reach the camp. After eliminating enough of them, the Foundry Freaks will join the fray.

Frank the Furnace

The Foundry Freaks are comprised of three powerful Rippers: Frank the Furnace, Sal the Engineer, and Hank the Welder. Watch out for their AOE fire attacks that cover the ground in flames. It's easy to get knocked down if you're not careful. If you do, you can shoot one of the other Rippers that continue to spawn throughout the encounter.

Foundry Freaks Legendary Drops

Foundry Freaks Drops

The Foundry Freaks have three dedicated legendary drops. They can drop from any of the three, so be sure to check each of their drops after the fighting dies down.

Legendary

Effects

Chamurky Grenade

Incessant: Continuously homes in on a target

Chuck Assault Rifle

Pitcher: Throws gun instead of shooting.

Bloody Lumberjack Assault Rifle

Timber: Fires saw blades that ricochet and deal damage to enemies twice.

These are some of the strongest legendaries in the entire game, and since there are three bosses in the Foundry Freaks encounter, this is one of the best farming spots on all of Kairos. Chamurky is the weakest of the dedicated legendary drops, but it still has its place in some grenade-centric builds.

Chuck and the Bloody Lumberjack, on the other hand, are two of the best guns in Borderlands 4. Chuck is the best weapon for Tediore lovers. It's incapable of being fired at all. Instead, you just throw the gun with all the bullets inside. With the right perks, it can deal devastating damage. The same goes for the Bloody Lumberjack, with ricocheting saw blades that deal huge damage to affected targets.

Even if you don't get one of these three legendary drops from the Foundry Freaks, you can still get lucky with one of Borderlands 4's other legendary weapons. You essentially get three bosses for the price of one with this encounter, so it's one of the best places to spend your cash if you need new gear.
