A recent Borderlands 3 update added a new event called Revenge of the Cartels to Gearbox Software's highly-popular looter shooter. This update also introduced a number of new weapons to the game, one of which is BL3's Sand Hawk Legendary sniper rifle, and indeed this gun packs quite a punch. For players that are currently wondering how to obtain a Sand Hawk in Borderlands 3, this guide will provide full details.
As is typical for Legendary weapons in Borderlands 3, the Sand Hawk is a random drop from a particular enemy, and in this case that enemy is none other than Katagawa Jr. Indeed, players that wish to procure a Sandhawk in BL3 must simply kill Katagawa Jr. Repeatedly until one drops, but there is one very important caveat: this Legendary sniper rifle is only obtainable on Mayhem level 6 or higher.
As many players will know, Mayhem Mode is unlocked in Borderlands 3 upon completion of the game, which means that fans must finish a playthrough before trying to farm for the Sand Hawk Legendary sniper rifle. Additionally, there are a number of other new Legendaries that can only be found on Mayhem 6 or above, giving players further incentive to complete BL3's main story and reach its endgame.
It is also worth noting that the aforementioned update, which launched on Thursday, April 23, made significant alterations to Mayhem Mode, introducing new modifiers, more levels, and new ways to access those levels. This is all being described as Mayhem Mode 2.0, and players will have their work cutout for them if they hope to overcome the most challenging content that Borderlands 3 now has to offer.
There is also the previously referenced Revenge of the Cartels event for players to try out, and it sends fans up against the Eridium Cartel gang at Villa Ultraviolet. While players are at this location, they will be working to complete a number of Revenge of the Cartels Challenges and to obtain some new loot added alongside the event. That said, fans will have to decide for themselves if any of this new loot rivals Borderlands 3's Sandhawk Legendary sniper rifle.
