There are more than 100 different rooms in Blue Prince. If you want to learn the whole story and finish the game, you will need to study everything inside of each of these rooms, and solve a variety of puzzles. One of the many rooms you can draft is called the Treasure Trove.

The Treasure Trove is filled with mysteries. If you want to learn more about the lore of Blue Prince and get the true ending, you will need to uncover everything this floorplan has to offer. This Guide is here to help you do just that, and will walk you through every secret found in the Treasure Trove room in Blue Prince.

To get every achievement and earn every Blue Prince Trophy, players must complete some of the toughest challenges in the game.

How to Get the Treasure Trove in Blue Prince

The Treasure Trove is not a room you start the game with. In order to unlock this floorplan in Blue Prince, you will need to find it. If you have reached the Underground area, you may have encountered a locked red door. It is located in the long hallway to the Sanctum; there is a hidden hallway to the left near the gate. Turn down this hallway, and you'll find the door there.

Blue-Prince-Red-Door-Underpass

In order to unlock the red door in the underpass in Blue Prince, you will need to draft the Boiler Room inside your home. This power source allows you to send electricity to other rooms in your home through the vents in the ceiling. But it also contains the secret to opening the red door.

Blue-Prince-Puzzle-Box-Underpass-Red-Door

There is a red box on one side of the bottom floor of the Boiler Room that doesn't seem to do anything when you send power to it. However, if you route power to that red box and then head into the underpass, you will then be able to get inside the red door. There will be a locked cage; this is considered a safe in Blue Prince, so you need to figure out a date to put into it for the combination. The only month and day combination that fits is May 8th. Open the gate, head inside, and pick up the Treasure Trove, read the red envelope, and pick up the gem.

Treasure Trove Secrets in the Trunks in Blue Prince

Every time you draft the Treasure Trove inside your home, you will notice a variety of chests between the two doors. They will be either white, blue, pink, or black, with a sun symbol, a fire symbol, or a moon on top. Each is locked and must be unlocked with a key. So what is inside each of these chests? In short, pieces of paper.

Depending on which combination of colors you come across, you will find different messages in each, which give a clue as to which colors and combinations are true or false. There are a lot of these, so you might not want to look for all of them yourself. Here they all are, if you aren't interested in figuring it out for yourself:

Blue-Prince-Treasure-Trove-Secret-Trunks-True

One of these true statements is a green, typed note in a black sun box. It reads "The true treasure of the Trove is in this room but is not in the house." This is the true statement that will help you solve the second mystery of the Treasure Trove.

The True Treasure of the Trove in Blue Prince

The clue is "The true treasure of the Trove is in the room, but cannot be found in the house." Therefore, you need to use the Blue Prince Shrine blessing called the Blessing of the Monk. You can achieve this by getting the Shrine and giving it 13, 29, 45, 61 or 77 coins. The number of days you get to keep the power is raised by one for each amount listed; for example, 13 gold will give you three days of the blessing while 29 will give 4 days.

Blue-Prince-Treasure-Trove-Secret-Trunk-Grounds

The power allows you to draft whatever room you ended the day in, but outside. Therefore, this is how you put the Treasure Trove outside the house. Once it is there, you will find a different kind of trunk in the Trove, but it can't be opened with any keys or items from inside the house. Instead, you will need the Key of Aries.

How to Find the Key of Aries in Blue Prince

The Key of Aries is one of the most challenging and convoluted puzzles in Blue Prince. If you want to solve it, you need to follow all the steps below to get your hands on this unique key. First, you need to solve the Chess puzzle, then solve the Castle puzzle, then the Mora Jai puzzles inside the Unknown room, figure out the riddle, and then solve the CASTLE cipher.

The Chess Puzzle Solution

To find this elusive key, you will need to either have completed the Blue Flame puzzle in Blue Prince to be able to use the elevator to the underground, or you need to have gotten through the underground until you find the Chess puzzle. To solve this puzzle, you will need to get certain combinations of rooms together in the house. Many of the rooms in the house have chess pieces standing inside them. These large decorations correspond to the chess puzzle pieces, and you need to have one of each of these kinds of rooms to finish it. Here are each of the rooms that has each of the different kinds of chess pieces inside:

As soon as one of each of the rooms above is in your house, return to the Underground to place each of the pieces in the place on the 5x9 board that corresponds to the location of that room in the house. Here is an example of what that could look like:

How to Solve the Castling Puzzle

Once you have solved the Chess puzzle, you will get the option to choose from several different powers, one for each of the Chess pieces from the puzzle. Each of these gives you some interesting buffs while drafting in your home.

Piece

Power Name

Power Description

Pawn

Ambition of the Pawn

When you reach rank 8 each day, you may choose Knight, Bishop, Rook, or Queen powers. You gain the power of that piece until the end of the day.

Knight

Mantle of the Knight

Adds the Armory room to your draft pool.

Queen

Gambit of the Queen

Each time you draft a room in the Queenside of the house, you lose five steps and gain a key.

King

Banner of the King

Each day, you may choose a room color via your inventory/menu. Rooms of the chosen color are more likely to be drawn while drafting.

Bishop

Piety of the Bishop

You do not have to pay tithes. Instead, you gain +30 gold the first time you enter the Chapel each day.

Rook

Resilience of the Rook

You may draw floor plans up to four times when drafting the four corner rooms of the house.

However, you may have noticed a breakable wall on the right side of the Chess puzzle room. If you break it with the crafted Blue Prince item called the Powerhammer, you will find a cipher behind the wall. It simply reads CASTLE. What does this mean in terms of chess and the chess puzzle, you might be wondering? Well, it's a hint of what to do next.

Blue-Prince-Throne-Room-Precipice-Clue-1

If you choose the Rook power, then solve the Chess puzzle again and choose the King's power (or vice versa), you will be completing a move called Castling. In chess, this move allows you to move both the King and the Rook at the same time. This will open up a wall inside the Chess puzzle room.

How to Solve the Mora Jai Puzzle Boxes in the Unknown in Blue Prince

At this point in the game, you have probably already solved many of these Mora Jai puzzle boxes. There are eight Mora Jai puzzles in the room you find yourself in, and they have green, yellow, purple, pink, black, orange, and gray tiles. Just in case you need a refresher, here are the rules for each of these colors:
  • Green: Swaps positions with its mirrored tile.
  • Yellow: Moves up one.
  • Purple: Moves down one.
  • Pink: Rotates all surrounding tiles one place clockwise.
  • Black: Shifts all tiles in that row one to the right.
  • Orange: Changes color to match the color that has the most tiles around it.
  • Gray: Nothing.

If you are still having trouble, here are all the solutions to each of the eight Mora Jai puzzle boxes in this room:

Inside each Mora Jai box are papers with part of a poem on them. Solve this riddle to ensure you have the information you need to get the next part right.

The Mora Jai Riddle in the Unknown Room in Blue Prince

If you put all the pages together in order, it reads:

Will a youth approach with empty arms,

without gifts nor gold nor mannered charms,

on the Sacred Hour, that timeworn phrase

in Aries Court where the King now lays.

A sullen cross as five stars align,

and in the sky above, a brilliant sign,

a patient figure a reckoning great,

the black key is lying with the last king of eight.

Blue-Prince-Throne-Room-Scepter-Mora-Jai
  • You need to enter with no items in your inventory, no gold, no Blue Prince gems, no Ivory Dice, nothing.
  • Draft an Observatory inside the house, and make sure that the Southern Cross is one of your Constellations for the day.
  • Head into the Unknown room and stand in there until it is 1:30 PM.
  • This will cause the tomb to rise out of the floor.

The CASTLE Cipher Solution

Last but not least, you have to solve the Cipher to complete the final puzzle and get the Key of Aries. The tomb inside the Unknown room has a clock face on it, and there is a puzzle that will teach you how to move the hands in order to solve it. In the room with the Chess puzzle, behind the broken wall, is the word CASTLE, but it looks like this:

  • C _ _
  • A _ _
  • S _ _
  • T _ _
  • L _ _
  • E _ _

You will need to use clues you find around the house to fill in all the blank spaces. Six total hints are located in different locations and rooms around the estate. These are:

  • The Locker Room
  • The Kennel
  • The Cloister
  • The Vault
  • The Secret Passage
  • The Blackbridge Grotto

If you combine all the letters, you can compile six-word phrase, and each word has three letters: CIX ADD TOR LOR ETT. You can find hints about what these words mean in the Classrooms.

  • CIX: The first word in this puzzle is a Roman numeral. It translates to 109.
  • ADD SIX: Add six to 109, and you get 115.
  • TOR: Ejaran word for "rotate something counterclockwise."
  • LOR: Ejaran word for "word."
  • ETT: Ejaran word for "East."

With this, you now have all the steps you need to complete the Clock puzzle.

Blue-Prince-Throne-Room-Unknown-Tomb-Key-Clock
  • The clock starts at 1:30.
  • Move the hands with the rewind button to read 1:09. Press the orange button.
  • Wind the clock to 1:15. Press the button again.
  • Rewind the clock counterclockwise until the minute hand is pointed at the word East, which is right next to the V on the clock. The time will read 12:26. Press the button.

The Key of Aries will appear inside the tomb. From this point forward, the tomb will be up each time you enter this room, but you will need to re-solve the Cipher puzzle with the same answers every time you want to grab the key again. Take the key to the locked box in the outdoor Treasure Trove to open it up and see what's hidden inside.
