Throughout Blue Prince, secrets like the Tunnel puzzle box can be found in just about every room, including rooms that you don't think hold any secrets. Depending on how you draft your rooms, some floorplans can change to contain new items or details – in this case, the Tunnel spawns the puzzle box when you place it a certain way.
Blue Prince: How To Unlock Time Lock Safe
To open the Time Lock Safe, Blue Prince players must first figure out the date and time, then input the right unlock time in the Shelter terminal.
To get the Tunnel puzzle box to spawn, you must first unlock the Tunnel floorplan and add it to your draft deck. Where Is The Tunnel Puzzle Box?
The secret Tunnel puzzle can only be found at the end of a Tunnel room that leads into a dead end. The Tunnel floorplan itself can only be unlocked once you light up the two torches in the blocked tunnel below the main entrance to the Estate – leave via the front door, then take the white staircase to the left down. You must have a Burning Glass to light these torches.
The secret Tunnel floorplan can be found on a crate at the end of this blocked tunnel, but only if at least one of the nearby torches is lit. Pick up the secret Floorplan, then head back into the Estate (or start a new Day).
To find the secret Tunnel puzzle box, Blue Prince players must draft a Tunnel into one of the perimeter borders of the house. We discovered this secret Tunnel puzzle after drafting three Tunnels in a row that lead into the top-left corner of the 9x5 grid that makes up the house layout.
How To Solve The Tunnel Puzzle Box
Secret Tunnel Puzzle Box Solution
At the end of the Tunnel you will see a small puzzle box, not unlike the puzzle box in the Trading Outpost. Each of these puzzle boxes is different, though, and each requires a slightly different approach to open.
Every Blue Prince puzzle box requires players to move a particular colored square into each of the 3x3 grid's four corners. Once you have aligned each corner with the correct color, click the heart symbols that point into each corner to lock it in. You must lock in all four to open a secret puzzle box.
In this case, you must move the orange tiles into each of the four corners.
- If you click purple tiles, the surrounding purple tiles will rotate.
- You can click orange tiles that are in between purple tiles to turn them purple.
- Clicking the orange tiles does nothing except in the above case
- Clicking the Black tile will move the whole row to the right. Anything in the right column will loop around to the left column.
Blue Prince: How To Check The Time & Date
To tell the time and date, Blue Prince players must use their wits to calculate the day Simon started his expedition and look for clocks.
Essentially, your goal with this puzzle is to get the black square and four purple tiles to form a cross in the middle of the board with one orange tile on each corner. If you make a mistake, reset the secret Tunnel puzzle by clicking one of the corner symbols when there is not an orange tile in that corner. The board will reset back to its default position and arrangement.
Blue Prince: How To Get Gems
To get more Gems, Blue Prince players must draft specific rooms and shops, and look for items that increase Gems, like the Watering Can.
Blue Prince Tunnel Puzzle Rewards
As with all puzzle boxes in Blue Prince, the Tunnel Puzzle rewards you with an Allowance Token. Allowance is a permanent upgrade that lets you start each day with a set amount of Gold, given to Simon in the form of a new letter on the table in the entrance.
Completing the secret Tunnel puzzle reward will increase your Allowance by 2. This does not take effect on the same day, you cannot go back to the entrance to get the extra Gold if you solve the Tunnel puzzle during a run.
