A fan of FromSoftware's Bloodborne has turned their hunter into iconic Breaking Bad protagonist Walter White . Despite its age, players of Bloodborne are still finding new ways to keep the game fresh and relevant.
On March 24, 2023, Bloodborne will be eight years old, and the PlayStation-exclusive hit from FromSoftware forever remains a fan-favorite from the studio, which features faster-paced combat than a traditional Dark Souls game and an impeccable Gothic aesthetic that has so far stood the test of time. In the wake of Sony porting its previously exclusive games to PC over the last several years, Bloodborne has consistently been at the top of the list for fans' most-requested game to make the transition. While there are limiting factors with the game's systems being tied to its frame rate, gamers remain hopeful that Bloodborne will eventually find its way somewhere besides the PlayStation 4.
Reddit user Daniel_Pruitt showed off what they had been cooking up in Bloodborne's character creation menu. Featuring the iconic shaved head, eyeglasses, and circle beard of America's most notorious fictional meth cook, Daniel_Pruitt's most recent hunter is the spitting image of Walter White. The lead of AMC's Breaking Bad, Walter White portrays a troubled and terminally-ill man who descends into utter villainy by the end of the show's run. While Walter White is a borderline genius throughout the course of the series, there is no indication how he would fair hunting down the denizens of Yharnam. While there are some slight differences in appearance, and nowhere in the course of Breaking Bad did Walter White sport a black trench coat with a cape, the likeness is still uncanny, and flexes an impressive skill in character creation from Daniel_Pruitt.
Despite its technical limitations, Bloodborne remains a timeless experience recommended easily to anyone with a cursory interest in FromSoftware's other titles. Posts like Daniel_Pruitt's highlight how the game has kept the interest of its fans since its release, and will continue to do so for years to come. If Sony can find a way to at long last port Bloodborne to the PC, or even give it the Demon Souls remake treatment, there is little doubt that the game would sell phenomenally well.
While FromSoftware focuses on Armored Core 6 and the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring, some fans are still fondly playing and replaying through the studio's previous catalog. To Daniel_Pruitt and other gamers still fighting their way through Yharnam for the Pale Blood, Bloodborne remains one of the best gaming experiences of the last decade.
Bloodborne is available on PS4.
