Blizzard confirms a popular Spiritborn build in Diablo 4 is getting nerfed due to a bug that has essentially made the Evade ability broken in the player's favor. October has been a big month for Diablo 4 fans as Season 6 has kicked off alongside the highly anticipated release of the Vessel of Hatred expansion, which continues the loot chase with plenty of new content to discover.
One of the biggest pieces to the new Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 has been the new Spiritborn class. While being completely new to the franchise, The Spiritborn is one of the more flexible and complex classes that the series has ever seen as it allows the player to build into four different Spirit Guardians, each with their own skills, playstyles, and combat prowess. Between the Jaguar, Gorilla, Eagle, and Centipede, there is seemingly a playstyle for anyone, whether they want to play aggressive, increase survivability, or apply damage over time effects. However, one spirit animal has proven to be more popular so far than all the others.
Following the launch of Vessel of Hatred, Diablo 4 players have discovered a broken Spiritborn build within the game. The build revolves around the Eagle spirit guardian for the skill known as Evade along with Quill Volley, and specific runewords. Which combined with specific unique items like Sepazontec, the class becomes a damage wrecking ball, resetting the evade cooldown instantly, allowing the player to zip around the screen, clearing everything with ease. However, as popular and powerful as this build has become, Blizzard is preparing a nerf for it, specifically the Evade skill which apparently has a nasty bug attached to it.
Diablo 4 Spiritborn Evade Ability Is Actually Bugged
Taking to social media, Diablo's global director of community, Adam Fletcher, indicated that the team is preparing new patches and hotfixes to launch this week. One thing being targeted is the Spiritborn's Evade skill and an associated bug that breaks the animation frames, allowing for another evade to be made instantly right after. The skill is intended to have a normal cast animation, so players shouldn't be able to chain them together in succession. Fletcher reminded fans that Blizzard is fixing this build so quickly not to eliminate the fun surrounding it but because it is negatively impacting the experience of other players. A fix is expected to arrive in Update 2.0.3 later this week.
Outside of the Spiritborn bug, Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred also launched with a handful of other issues as well. Vessel of Hatred saw the return of mercenary NPCs, which players can hire to join them on quests. As helpful as the mechanic can be, especially for solo players, some Diablo 4 players have run into a Blank Skill Tree bug, essentially making it impossible to select the NPC's ability or passive skills. Thankfully, players have found a workaround by going into the graphical settings for Diablo 4 and switching to Windowed Mode. For some reason, doing this forces the ability tree to appear, letting the player make a selection, and then save it. From there, players can switch back to fullscreen.
