Summary

  • Xbox now offers Bleach games like Bleach: Brave Souls, with Bleach: Rebirth of Souls in development for the console as well.
  • The Bleach anime is on sale on the Microsoft Store, giving Xbox fans the chance to delve into the iconic series at a discount.
  • With the release of new Bleach games and discounted anime, Xbox users have more Bleach content options to enjoy on their platform.

Though they may not have as many as the PS5 and Switch do, there are quite a few licensed anime games available on Xbox consoles. From Dragon Ball Z and Demon Slayer, all the way to Naruto and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, there's a lot that anime fans can choose from when it comes to these sorts of titles. Their quality does often vary, but many of these licensed works are noteworthy additions to the library of games available on Xbox consoles.

Sadly, not every major anime franchise with video game adaptations has a big presence on the Xbox platform. One of the more notable multimedia IPs in this regard is the Bleach series. Often referred to as one of "the big three" shonen anime from the early 2000s, Bleach has a fairly lengthy history in the realm of licensed video games. That being said, many titles based on the franchise have never made their way outside of Japan, and even fewer of them have landed on Xbox consoles. Following some recent developments, however, now is likely a good time for anime fans on Xbox to check Bleach out if they haven't already.

With Multiple Bleach Games Releasing, Now is a Great Time for Xbox Fans to Check the Series Out

A Bleach Game Just Landed on Xbox Consoles For the First Time

Back in May 2024, Japanese developer KLabGames announced that it would be bringing its free-to-play beat-em-up game, Bleach: Brave Souls, to Xbox consoles. The game, which was first released on Android and iOS in 2015, made its way to PC in 2020 and subsequently received a PS4 port in 2022. At the time of its PlayStation release, there wasn't any word on whether the game would come to Xbox, which was disappointing for anime fans on the platform. Fortunately, though, Bleach: Brave Souls finally made its way to Xbox One on June 27, 2024, roughly two years after the launch of the PS4 version.

Since it has all the typical trappings of free-to-play gacha games, mileage may vary with Bleach: Brave Souls from player to player. However, its launch on Xbox is still noteworthy, as it's the very first Bleach game to ever be released for a Microsoft console. This fact alone might be enough for some anime fans on Xbox to give Bleach: Brave Souls a shot, even if they aren't normally interested in these sorts of titles. It doesn't cost any money to try the game out, after all, so players have nothing to lose by doing so.

A New Bleach Fighting Game is Coming to Xbox

The Bleach content on Xbox doesn't stop there, though, as Bandai Namco recently announced a new 3D fighting game based on the franchise for current-gen platforms. Like Brave Souls, this title — dubbed Bleach: Rebirth of Souls — is going to be another record-breaker, as it'll be the first proper Bleach game designed for home consoles in more than a decade. This Bandai Namco-published title will let players pit iconic characters from the popular shonen series against each other and make them duel it out in fast-paced sword fights. Although Bandai Namco did confirm that Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is coming to Xbox Series X, they didn't provide a release window for the game.

Xbox Fans Should Get the Bleach Anime at a Discount While They Still Can

As Xbox fans wait for Rebirth of Souls to come out, they should watch the Bleach anime in the meantime, if they're interested. There's never been a better time to check the show out than now, as the complete Bleach series is currently on sale on the Microsoft Store. Xbox users can purchase all 366 episodes of the original anime for only $99.99, which is a whopping 81% discount. Additionally, they can grab Season 1 and 2 of the sequel series, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, on the MS store for $9.99 each, alongside a handful of Bleach movies at $4.99 apiece.

Despite the franchise's lackluster history on the platform, there's currently quite a lot of Bleach content to enjoy and look forward to on Xbox, whether that be films, shows, or video games. While some Xbox users will likely be happy to see more game adaptations based on the iconic shonen anime, others who used to be unfamiliar with Bleach may finally want to give the series a chance, thanks to its increased presence on Microsoft's platform.
