Blades of Fire features some of the most brutally satisfying combat mechanics, boasting a system that falls somewhere between a Souls-lite and the latest God of War games. There is a lot of depth to dangerous enemies, requiring the protagonist, Aran de Lira, to use different stances and weapons in order to take them down.
Some enemies are easy to take down with a variety of different weapons, while some of the stronger monsters roaming the world need specific weapons in order to be taken out. This guide will show you how Aran gains access to more weapon types in Blades of Fire.

How To Get More Forge Scrolls In Blades Of Fire
Blades of Fire has a big focus on crafting and forging weapons for Aran. Each weapon has its distinct style and feel. Whether you prefer wielding faster daggers or smashing heads with a Warhammer, there's a style that caters to all tastes. To create new weapons, Aran must forge them at an Anvil after defeating enemies to obtain Forge Scrolls.
However, you must ensure that Aran's young chronicler, Adso, is present when fighting and defeating them so that he can record the kills in the Forge Scrolls menu. Aran must kill a specific number of enemies in order to unlock their weapon type in the Forge Scrolls. For example, you must defeat 60 Putrids to obtain the Claymore Greatsword or five spearmen to get the Long Spear.
There are five weapon types in Blades of Fire:
- Daggers
- Swords
- Greatswords
- Polearms
- Spears
If you forget to recall Adso to Aran's side, your battles won't be recorded in his chronicles, and kills won't count toward Forge Scrolls.
How To Call Adso Into The Field In Blades Of Fire
If he's not present, you can call Adso from camp to accompany Aran, chronicle his journey, and provide information about items found in the field. He can also open magically sealed doorways and reveal information about secrets and collectibles located on the map.
T o call or dismiss Adso, you can press right on the d-pad or T on the keyboard. It is beneficial to speak with Asdo frequently for lore and information about the quest and other characters encountered. However, you should send him back to camp occasionally in order to chronicle the adventure and make drawings in the book, which can be invaluable when exploring and expanding the lore in said text.
