While Season 3 Reloaded offers content across all game modes, Zombies also receives exclusive additions, including the debut of Shattered Veil: Directed Mode and the Zombie Snacks LTM. However, the highlight is undoubtedly the return of Frost Blast, allowing players to freeze waves of undead enemies. Here’s how to unlock Frost Blast in Black Ops 6 and the best Augments to use with it.
Is Unlocking The Vendetta Perk in Black Ops 6 Worth It?
The Vendetta Perk arrives in Black Ops 6, shaping up to be the perfect Perk for revenge. Here is how to unlock it and what it does.
How To Unlock Frost Blast In Black Ops 6 Zombies
To unlock Frost Blast in Black Ops 6 Zombies, players will need to acquire Blaze Bucks to redeem it via the Blaze of Glory Event page during the event's limited runtime. Blaze Bucks are a special item that drops through eliminations in either Multiplayer or Zombies, or via opening supply caches in Warzone.
Players will need a total of 20 Blaze Bucks collected, which they can use to claim the seventh mystery prize for the event to get the Frost Blast Zombies Field Upgrade. Once done, it can be equipped as their active Field Upgrade for their Zombies loadout.
The Blaze of Glory Event ends on May 15 at 10 AM PT. When it does, the Frost Blast Field Upgrade will become an Armory Unlock for those who do not already have it.
How Does Frost Blast Work in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
The Frost Blast Field Upgrade functions just like its counterpart last seen in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, serving as an excellent area-of-effect ability that handles crowds of zombies fairly easily. When activated, Frost Blast creates a small blizzard in the area it is deployed, dealing lethal damage upon activation, then slowing enemies that enter its area of effect while inflicting tick damage.
The duration of the area of effect for the base version of Frost Blast with no Augments is six seconds, which is fairly brief. Frost Blast excels at dealing with large groups of zombies, but it can also be effective at slowing down Special and Elite enemies like Doppelghasts and Elder Disciples, making it easier to land critical hits on them.
Best Frost Blast Augments In Black Ops 6 Zombies
When it comes to the best Augments to use with Frost Blast, the choices are fairly clear. By far the best Major Augment is Flash Freeze, which allows Frost Blast to completely freeze regular zombies and instantly kill them when they take any damage. This makes Frost Blast incredibly effective at clearing out standard enemies almost instantly.
For the Minor Augment, two notable options stand out. For a more damage-focused build, choose Frost Bite, which increases the damage dealt to frozen enemies. This setup is ideal for dealing heavy damage to Special and Elite enemies caught within Frost Blast’s radius. Extension is another solid pick, as it significantly increases the duration for which Frost Blast remains active.
