The C.A.S.T.E.R. Turret is the only available trap in Reckoning, and its power proves why that's the case. The Cognitive (and) Adaptive System (for) Target Elimination (and) Reinforcement is immensely strong at killing zombies regardless of what the round is, and it's even effective against those pesky Uber Klaus enemies. How to Upgrade CASTER Turrets in Reckoning

The CASTER Turret can be upgraded by purchasing the CASTER Turret a total of 5 times. After, the Janus P.A. System will announce "Error: Memory full. Upgrade capacity to continue learning." When players hear this dialogue, it means that the CASTER Turret is ready for an upgrade. In order to proceed, continue to kill zombies until one drops a Hard Drive, an item noticed on the ground for its golden glow. With the Hard Drive, enter the T1 Quantum Computing Core, where, on the southeast side of the central terminal, players will find a Project Janus station. Interact with this station to insert the Hard Drive and begin a mini-lockdown.

Players must defend the Project Janus terminal from zombies until the system has finished upgrading. This can take a while, so come prepared and only start the upgrade at the end of a round. Alternatively, start the upgrade and immediately fast travel away from the area, as some players have reported that this will skip the step altogether. Players can grab 2 more upgrades for the CASTER Turret, which includes purchasing the CASTER Turret an additional 10 times. Then, for the final upgrade, purchasing the CASTER Turret 15 more times does the trick, but you will still need to do the Hard Drive step for each upgrade.

All CASTER Turret Upgrades & What They Do

The CASTER Turret can be upgraded from 1.0 to 4.0, and each upgrade works the same. Allow it to get kills across any Turret on the map until the Janus P.A. System announces the memory is full, collect a Hard Drive, defend it in the T1 Quantum Computing Core, and continue on. Each CASTER Turret upgrade will be more expensive to purchase, and while the kills needed for each upgrade is absurd, the upgrade itself is essential for high-round strategies. Here's a quick overview of each CASTER Turret upgrade:

  • 2.0 - Players become immune to CASTER Turret damage
  • 3.0 - Shots become more powerful with a large splash damage radius
  • 4.0 - Shots are even stronger, with a faster attack speed, and a chance to cause a Brainrot Ammo Mod effect.
